It’s been confirmed that the character, Phainon, will appear on the Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 banners. He is a 5-star entity who specializes in inflicting Physical Damage, as he was introduced following The Destruction.
In the current tale set in Amphoreus, Phainon stands out as a pivotal figure, serving as both protagonist and adversary. This is due to the similarities he shares with the character known as the Flame Reaver.
The legend accompanying his unveiling suggests a dual nature: “Anonymous hero, the Chrysos Heir wielding the Coreflame known as ‘Worldbearing’, you are tasked with internalizing the principles of every realm, shaping the destiny of countless beings, and igniting the first light of daybreak in the nascent world. However, if dawn was never born, let the flames of fury consume this body to ember and ascend as the blazing sun of tomorrow!
On the poster’s design, the Amphorean script reads, “Have you noticed? Amphoreus brought about a new daybreak.
In the story, it appears that Phainon will carry Kephale’s Coreflame, but he won’t be the one to start a new cycle of history by remolding the world based on his memories. There are definite similarities between him and Kevin from Honkai Impact 3rd, as they both stray off their intended paths with good intentions.
On July 2, 2025, the new version 3.4 of Honkai: Star Rail will be rolled out. This update brings in two fresh characters, Archer and Saber, who are part of a collaboration with HSR’s Fate UBW series. The collaboration starts on July 11, 2025.
