In the latest Genshin Impact Update 5.8, obstacles that were frustrating for players using both PS4 and PS5, along with other platforms, have been removed. Previously, the game’s premium currency, Genesis Crystals, could not be shared across platforms when purchased on PlayStation, but this update has finally eliminated that restriction. This applies to all existing and future Genesis Crystals purchases.
Now, cross-platform compatibility has been added to Genshin Impact. This means that rewards earned from the battle pass on PlayStation can now be claimed across different versions of the game, and similarly, rewards from other platforms can be accessed on your PlayStation too. Previously, this wasn’t an option. It’s speculated that this feature was part of HoYoverse’s early console exclusivity agreement with Sony, which also explains why Aloy from Horizon is a playable character in the game, even though she’s been accessible on other platforms for some time now.
As a devoted enthusiast, I’m thrilled to be part of this significant leap towards seamless cross-progression. Previously, I’ve encountered barriers that held us back, but now, it feels like we’re breaking through those obstacles!
Yet, there remain exclusive elements in HoYoverse’s production: Specifically, certain cosmetic items like skins are limited to the PlayStation platform and cannot be utilized on other editions of the RPG.
In version 5.8, changes were made to swap out the Voice Acting for Sucrose, while also adding missing dialogue for various other characters.
