The method for cooking meat in Monster Hunter Wilds might seem insignificant, yet it could significantly enhance your experience during tough hunts. At any moment, you can cook the meat, even while a monster is pursuing you, but remember that you’ll need some raw meat to do so in the first place.

Monster Hunter Wilds: How to grill meat 

To cook meat on your grill, first, ensure you have your portable BBQ set acquired during the main story, right after Wilds commencement. This item remains in your inventory radially, positioned close to your capture net and other crucial items. Click on it, then press the ‘use’ button to set up the grill. The cooking menu, similar to that at camp, will appear, but with an additional ‘grill’ option. Select raw meat, triggering a mini-game for cooking. Please note, rations cannot be cooked using this method.

Monster Hunter Wilds: How to get Well-Done Steak

In the initial phase of the cooking mini-game, your character will be shown holding a large piece of meat over the grill. As soon as they flip it, you’ll notice a slight alteration in the texture of the meat, approximately one second after flipping. Quickly press the “X” button on your DualSense controller (or “A” button on your Xbox controller), or the key you’ve assigned for that action, and you’ll progress to the next stage.

This round, your task is to synchronize your button presses with the rhythm of the music for an optimal cooking result. Achieve this harmony, and you’ll receive 12 perfectly cooked steaks labeled ‘Well-Done’. Fall short in timing, and only 6 will be served. Be mindful during the grilling process as well; a misstep could lead to undercooked or burnt meat.

Monster Hunter Wilds: How to get raw meat

In some small creatures, uncooked flesh is occasionally found, with distinct species providing this resource in most areas, but not the Iceshard Peaks.

  • Ceratonoth – Windward Plains
  • Dalthydon – Scarlet Forest
  • Gelidron – Oilwell Basin
  • Rafma – Ruins of Wyveria

Instead of the desired item, you could receive an alternative like the Herbivore Shell from a Ceratonoth, which might require several attempts to obtain. If you prefer not to kill these creatures for raw meat, consider using tranquilizer bombs to catch them instead.
