A comprehensive guide on everything concerning the Yetuga in The First Berserker Khazan, including practical tips for effortlessly overcoming it and additional insights.
The Yetuga serves as the initial boss encounter in the main story of The First Berserker Khazan. Despite being the opening battle, it’s no walk in the park. In fact, the Yetuga proves to be more formidable than both the Blade Phantom and the Volbaino. This is due to the limitation that you can only utilize two out of the three weapon types during this confrontation.
Instead, you’re compelled to wield two weapons simultaneously, known as Dual Wielding. While this Dual Wield weapon is powerful, it requires a high level of skill, and unfortunately, during this boss battle, there’s no access to the skill tree for added abilities. This means you must vanquish the boss solely by leveraging the raw power of the weapon and your quick reactions. Fortunately, Yetuga becomes quite manageable once you learn how to dodge its attacks effectively.
Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to easily defeat the Yetuga in The First Berserker Khazan.
How To Unlock Yetuga in The First Berserker Khazan?
In my gaming adventure, I can’t help but notice that the formidable Yetuga stands as the initial boss encounter within the main storyline of our game. As I delve deeper into the mystical realm of Heinmach, I’ll undoubtedly ascend its snow-capped peaks. Atop this mountain, a host of creatures including wolves, yetis, and others call home.
The Yetuga is fundamentally an evolved version of the common Yeti, thriving in the extreme chill atop the mountains. This peculiar being shares most of its movements with ordinary Yetis, but with some distinct variations.
As I faced off against the Yetuga in this epic battle, I noticed its icy back spikes were more than just a menacing feature – they served as both offensive and defensive tools. These frozen spears would strike me, dealing damage, but interestingly enough, they also acted as vulnerable spots for the boss. While it was using those spikes to attack Khazan, it was exposing its weak points, making my chances of landing a critical hit higher.
Beyond that, it’s important to note that because the Yetuga doesn’t have snow on its back, this area is a vulnerability as well. Intriguingly, launching an attack from behind the boss inflicts more damage than attacking from the front does. Interestingly, the Yetuga is also susceptible to Fire attacks. However, exploiting this weakness is only possible in New Game+. For standard gameplay, you’ll need to rely on parries, evasive maneuvers, and the Dual Wield’s combination moves to deal damage to the boss.
Tips To Easily Defeat the Yetuga
The Yetuga may appear daunting, but with a grasp of its attack patterns, it becomes manageable to conquer. Here are some strategies for effortlessly overcoming the Yetuga within The First Berserker Khazan:
This version maintains the original meaning while making the text more engaging and easier to read.
- The Yetuga always starts the battle with a 2-hit slash attack combo. This attack can be easily dodged or even parried. We recommend dodging it as it’s easier. After the 2-hit combo, the Yetuga usually gives you a short window to deal damage before retreating and doing either a charge or a slam attack.
- While the charge attack can be parried, it’s best to dodge it. While you’re trying to whittle down the boss’ Fortitude gauge, stay close to it and in the front. This way, you will be dealing damage to its ice spikes, which will stagger the boss.
- You can also stagger the Yetuga for a short duration by performing two consecutive perfect parries. We highly recommend practicing your parry timings on the regular Yetis close to the boss’ Nexus.
- Once the Yetuga lunges back and starts phase two, move away from the boss and stay stationary. As soon as you see the boss jump in midair, run toward either the left or the right, and mash dodge as soon as you see it coming toward you. Mashing the dodge makes it so that you don’t get hit by the boulder attack, even if you miss the perfect dodge window.
- Following the boulder attack, the Yetuga will retreat once again and charge an ice beam attack. As soon as you see the boss moving back, quickly run behind it and start performing the Swift Attack combo. Staying behind the Yetuga keeps you safe from its ice beam.
- The second phase is roughly identical to the first phase, and as long as you time your dodges, you should be able to defeat the Yetuga in no time.
