How To Defeat Wandering Ark In Where Winds Meet

In Where Winds Meet, The Wandering Ark is a unique world boss. You’ll find this massive, flying ship battling players who get too close within the sandstorms of the Jade Gate Pass in Hexi.

The Wandering Ark is a large boss, so the fight is unique compared to others in the game. Here’s a guide to finding it, and then strategies for defeating it.

Wandering Ark Boss Location

The Wandering Ark can be found in the northwestern region of the Jade Gate Pass in Hexi, but it’s hidden by a severe sandstorm. Getting closer will cause your map to stop working.

To navigate the storm, listen for the sound of camel bells nearby. If you hear one, head towards it and keep moving in the same direction. Eventually, you’ll emerge from the storm and be able to see the Wandering Ark.

Wandering Ark Boss Fight Walkthrough

When you get near the Wandering Ark, it will fire multiple arrows at you. You can’t block these arrows, so you’ll need to move quickly – dodge and run – to avoid getting hit as you approach the boss.

Once you’ve fired about three sets of arrows, the Wandering Ark should rise up, showing its four Moonlight Withered Branches. These are the only parts you can damage – breaking each one removes 25% of the boss’s total health.

The Wandering Ark will try to crush you by stomping or slamming down. These attacks are very powerful, so be careful! You can block them, but blocking won’t build up your Qi energy, making dodging a much better strategy.

Once you’ve destroyed all four weak points, the fight will enter its second phase.

Phase 2

During this stage, the Wandering Ark will use completely new attacks, but it won’t be a typical boss fight.

This enemy has a new attack where it sacrifices its own energy to rush forward, damaging anything in its way. A message will appear suggesting you can damage it by shooting the Moon Lantern, but we advise against trying this. The timing is very strict, and you’ll probably just get run over.

The Wandering Ark attacks by swinging its large, tree-like arm. These swings can create thorn patches on the ground, or it might fire white projectiles. It’s best to stay far away to avoid getting hit by either of these attacks.

Sometimes, the boss will use an attack called Moonfall. It starts with a short charge-up, then the boss fires a large, moon-shaped projectile that does a lot of damage. To dodge it, look at the ground for a highlighted area showing where the projectile will land, and then quickly run out of that area.

As soon as the projectile hits, quickly return to it and use the reverse ability to reconstruct the moon and launch it towards the boss. When the moon connects, it will bring the Wandering Ark crashing down, inflicting significant damage and exposing its vulnerable spot.

Swiftly return to the boss and attack its vulnerable spot to deal additional damage. This is how you’ll primarily hurt the boss during this part of the fight, so practice dodging the moon projectile and moving back into attack range.

After learning the timing, most of the Wandering Ark’s attacks are quite manageable. Focus on hitting the boss with the moon when it appears, and you should be able to defeat it fairly quickly.
