It’s never fun to be sick – it really takes all your energy. Plus, doctor’s visits can be stressful and costly. Thankfully, games offer a welcome distraction from everything.
If you’re planning to play Where Winds Meet, be prepared – just like in real life, your character can get sick while exploring! Illnesses and injuries can be serious, so here’s a guide to dealing with them.
How Do You Get Diseases And Ailments?

Pretty much anything can injure your character in this game, but sprains and broken bones are the most frequent injuries. Even though you can do amazing aerial maneuvers, gravity still applies, and falling from a great height will definitely cause some damage.
You can easily avoid fall damage by using a Mighty Drop to land, which prevents any injuries to your legs.
Beyond that, various other ailments are possible. You could be poisoned by touching Datura flowers, burned by excessive fire attacks, stung by bees near Whisper Hives, or even develop mental health issues from reading strange books.
These illnesses can weaken your body in several ways, like making it harder to recover stamina, lowering your maximum health, and causing other negative effects. It’s best to steer clear of them.
You can view any current illnesses in the Constitution menu, alongside your attributes. You can also see what effects those illnesses are having on you directly in the Heads-Up Display (HUD).
If these health problems aren’t treated, they can get worse, making their effects even more severe. This also makes them harder and more expensive to heal.
Can You Cure Illnesses Yourself?
Just like when we’re sick in real life and try to feel better on our own before seeing a doctor, Where Winds Meet encourages you to rely on self-sufficiency. After all, seeking help can be costly, so why spend money if you can manage things yourself?
Okay, so you can heal yourself in the game, but it’s not like a quick button press – it takes some work. When you check your character’s health in the Constitution menu, it’ll actually tell you if you can heal whatever’s wrong with you, and even if you can fix the really bad stuff later on.
If you sprain something, the best way to heal is to avoid further injury – basically, stop falling! As long as you don’t keep re-injuring it, a sprain will usually get better on its own. But if you continue to fall, it could become a more serious injury.
Minor injuries, such as bee stings, will heal on their own, though some might need extra care. Occasionally, practicing Tai Chi or even going for a swim can help you recover from certain illnesses or clear your head. The game doesn’t offer instructions for these remedies, so discovering them is up to you, but they’re available at no cost.
Every Way Of Recovering
If self-healing doesn’t work, you can recover from injuries or illness in one of two ways: visit the in-game clinic, or receive healing from another player.
You can find the Evercare Clinic in the Qinghe region, near Blissful Retreat – it’s located on top of the hill where you upgrade your Medicine Case. Speak to the doctor there, select the injury you want healed, and she’ll take care of it, but be prepared to pay – even a minor sprain can cost around 10,000.
You can also ask another player for help. Check your illness in the menu, and you’ll see a list of players who can heal you. Keep in mind that others might be occupied, so it could take some time for someone to accept your request.
Most players agree on the best way to get healed: head to the Evercare Clinic in Online Mode. You’ll usually find plenty of Healer players there who will offer to help you right away. It’s the quickest way to recover, although they’ll likely ask for something in return – usually just likes.
If you’re a healer, this is a fantastic way to connect with people who need your services. And for members of the Silver Needle sect, it’s a good way to maintain your standing and get recognized by the group.
