However, if you talk to him again before you set out, he will provide a more specific tip. He hints that the Windward Plains’ Tracktail Lizards are often found near oases. So, in your search for these elusive creatures, look for small water sources in the desert as this is likely where you’ll find them.

As a fan of the game, I’d suggest venturing towards Region 13 in the plains, which lies near where you encountered the fearsome Balahara, the Leviathan of the wastes. The journey is on you, but since it’s a side quest, it can be tackled whenever you’re not engaged in other battles or progressing with the main storyline. I’d encourage you to momentarily pause your current endeavors to hunt down this elusive creature.
