How Stamina Works In Where Winds Meet

It’s surprising how much free content Where Winds Meet offers, making it seem unsustainable financially – unless you’re a big spender on in-game boats. Most free-to-play games limit how much you can play unless you pay to refill energy, and this game appears to rely on boat purchases instead.

Where Winds Meet does include that feature, but it’s so minor you might miss it entirely. Most of the game doesn’t actually use it, so if you only play through the story once and don’t spend a lot of time collecting loot, you probably won’t even notice it.

In this game, the resource used for actions like sprinting and dodging is called Endurance, which is similar to what other games call Stamina. We just want to make sure those terms don’t get mixed up.

What Is Stamina?

Where Winds Meet features two resource systems that govern how much you can do, though only one is labeled ‘Stamina.’ These systems – Challenge Energy and Crafting Stamina – control different parts of the game, so you’re less likely to find yourself completely depleted of either one.

Here’s a bit more info on each system.

Challenge Energy

Challenge Energy is your main stamina bar, visible in the top-right corner of the map. It’s used to replay open-world activities like Campaigns and Outposts, as well as the Sword Trials multiplayer mode.

Challenge Energy helps you earn powerful gear by rewarding you after completing Outposts or Campaigns. Each completion unlocks a chest, and you can spend Challenge Energy to claim the items inside. Spending more Energy lets you claim even bigger rewards – double or triple the usual amount!

How many extra rewards you can earn from completing an Outpost or Campaign depends on your level in Solo Mode, so keep that in mind before you start.

Sword Trials are multiplayer challenges where you team up with other players to defeat a series of bosses. Completing these trials earns you rewards, just like with Outposts and Campaigns, and uses your Challenge Energy.

Crafting Stamina

Crafting Stamina powers all your crafting activities. It’s the energy you use to make everything – from cooked food and ammunition to weapons and building materials. Essentially, it fuels all crafting in the game.

Crafting most items doesn’t use much Stamina – usually around ten points. Building materials often cost even less. With a total of 2,500 Stamina, you shouldn’t have to worry about running out anytime soon.

How To Recover Stamina

Both types of Stamina replenish on their own, and you can’t speed up the process with purchases. Here’s how each one recovers:

  • Challenge Energy – Recovers a single point every eight minutes until it hits the maximum. You can also instantly regain 60 points with the use of a Pillow Powder item.
  • Crafting Stamina – Recovers 450 points once a day, every day. This happens automatically at the daily reset, and there is no other way to make it restore faster.

You earn Pillow Powder by progressing in Solo Mode – specifically, by completing Breakthroughs, which also raise your Solo Mode level. It’s also available through the Battle Pass, but because of this, it’s a limited-time item.

How To Increase Stamina

Okay, so here’s the deal with Stamina. If I want to boost it, I can only increase my Challenge Energy. Crafting Stamina is capped at 2,500, and there’s no way to raise that limit, unfortunately. It’s just stuck at that number.

You can only increase your Energy by completing Breakthroughs in Solo Mode. A Breakthrough happens when you meet the requirements and advance to the next level within Solo Mode.

Currently, you can store up to 600 Challenge Energy, which happens when you reach Level 7 in Solo Mode. We plan to add ways to increase this limit in future updates, but for now, reaching Level 7 is the only way to get more Challenge Energy.
