As a dedicated fan following the lives of Prince William and Kate Middleton, I am thrilled to learn about their commitment to increasing diversity within their staff at Buckingham Palace. This is a significant step towards fostering an inclusive culture and creating authentic engagement across all teams.
I, as a devoted admirer of the royal family, am thrilled to share that Prince William and Kate Middleton are taking active steps towards enhancing diversity within their team. According to recent reports from Newsweek, their household currently employs 66 individuals, with around nine of those being from ethnic minority backgrounds – equating to approximately 14 percent representation.
Approximately two-thirds of the staff are women, making up 67 percent or 44 individuals, while the remaining portions are male. According to the Sovereign Grant report, the royal couple is committed to enhancing diversity and promoting an inclusive work environment by focusing on better representation within their team.

Based on Newsweek’s article, the Sovereign Grant report stated that progress has been made in implementing the royal household’s initiative to enhance diversity and inclusion. This includes efforts to boost representation and foster a culture that promotes authenticity, encourages participation from all teams, and welcomes engagement.
By 2025, Buckingham Palace aspires to comprise 14% of staff members belonging to ethnic minorities. At present, King Charles III’s household counts 11.4% of employees originating from ethnic backgrounds.
Despite this, there exists a difference in pay between ethnic minorities and their white counterparts, amounting to a 3.9 percent disparity. Regarding gender, 53 percent of the workforce is comprised of women, accompanied by a 2.2 percent gender pay gap.
In the year 2021, the Prince and Princess of Wales Foundation made a promise to promote greater inclusivity. According to their 2020 report, they were dedicated to advocating for equal opportunities and cultivating a considerate workplace culture.

Prince William and Kate Middleton named their daughter Princess Charlotte as a tribute to William’s late mother, Princess Diana. They decided against using Diana as her first name to prevent frequent associations with the beloved late princess and allow Charlotte to carve out her own identity.
As an alternative, they gave Diana as one of the middle names for Charlotte, together with Elizabeth, to honor the memories of both Diana and Queen Elizabeth II.
On the 2nd of May, 2015, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana entered the world. According to royal expert Richard Kay in an interview with Vanity Fair, this name selection was made as a thoughtful tribute to Diana, without imposing undue expectations on Charlotte.
According to Simone Simmons, Diana would have been pleased and thought the name was a suitable remembrance in honor of her, as reported.
Prince Harry paid tribute to Diana by giving the name “Princess Lilibet Diana” to his daughter born on June 4, 2021. This decision signifies the brothers’ commitment to preserving their mother’s memory through their offspring’s names.
