More recently, Millie Bobby Brown discussed her bald look for her character Eleven in Stranger Things on the Call Her Daddy podcast. She candidly shared her feelings regarding this dramatic change and its influence on her personal development.
Initially, Brown shared that she was unfazed when she baldly portrayed her character in Stranger Things. In her own words, “I truly didn’t mind, and I mean that sincerely.” She expressed no apprehension, no sorrow as they trimmed it away. Instead, she casually responded, “Alright then, this is what I’m doing now.
According to her statement on Just Jared, she mentioned that keeping her head shaved is essential for her job since she needs to trim it every three days to match the length needed for filming. Over time, this regular shaving has influenced how she feels about being bald.
Initially, I was all-in with Millie Bobby Brown rocking the bald look, but as time wore on, my feelings about it shifted significantly. You see, once I hit the tender ages of 11 and 12, I started to feel a bit self-conscious. It seemed like the boys around me were only noticing the other girls, leaving me wondering if there was something unique about my shaved head that kept them away.
She acknowledged that the encounter left her feeling vulnerable due to past bullying incidents and frequent harsh remarks by strangers in public. To manage these difficulties, she began sporting wigs instead.
In spite of the challenges faced, Brown continues to view the situation as a positive one. To put it plainly, he still cherishes the experience to this very day and would gladly repeat it.
Brown mentioned that she might shave her head once more for another significant occasion, expressing to her fiancé, Jake Bongiovi, that she feels the urge to chop off her locks when she has her first child. She explained that this action seems practical to her, perhaps even shaving it off just before delivery, as she views hair as an extra burden to handle during that period.
For Brown, shaving her head wasn’t just about a physical transformation; instead, she viewed it as a liberating journey and encouraged other girls to consider it. She expressed a desire to undergo the same experience at a different point in life, emphasizing that while she did it as a young girl, she’d like to do it again as a woman.
