HOUSE OF THE DRAGON’s New Character From FIRE & BLOOD Is a Comedic Delight

As a long-time fan and connoisseur of the intricate world of Westeros, I must say that the introduction of Admiral Lohar in House of the Dragon has been nothing short of refreshing. With a rich backstory rooted in both Fire & Blood and other novels, this character has managed to carve out a unique niche for themselves within the show’s universe.

As a gaming enthusiast, I must say, the grand finale of House of the Dragon finally brought Admiral Lohar to the table, portrayed by the talented Abigail Thorn. This formidable naval commander, commanding a flotilla of Triarchy ships, had Tyland Lannister scrambling for their loyalty and working tirelessly to lift the blockade that’s been causing quite a stir in King’s Landing. In this sea of intense (and peculiar) moments that fill the show, the interactions between Tyland Lannister and Admiral Lohar are nothing short of side-splittingly hilarious.

In the initial scene of the episode, there’s a meeting between Tyland and a group of Triarchy men, including Tyland, following a conversation about the Stepstones and taxes. The discussion turns into an argument, covering various subjects. However, any action will depend on Admiral Lohar’s consent since the sailors refuse to engage without him.

In the series adaptation of Lohar, there’s a significant focus on a character similar to Racallio Ryndoon from Fire & Blood, a genderfluid Tyroshi captain with multiple spouses. This character enjoys organizing mud wrestling matches, and in one such event, we witness Lohar wrestling Tyland in the mud, eventually dominating the match and winning everyone’s admiration. Later, during dinner, Lohar proposes that his wives should conceive children with him to ensure their offspring are strong, a custom he upholds.

Admiral Lohar Makes a Funny Game of Thrones Reference When Meeting Tyland Lannister

In a humorous nod to “Game of Thrones,” Admiral Lohar from “House of the Dragon” playfully mixes up characters, repeatedly calling Tyland by the name of Tywin Lannister, the father of Cersei, Jamie, and Tyrion. Despite his confusion, Tyland corrects him, clarifying that he is not Tywin but Tyland. The names Tyman and Tyrod are also used, but they do not represent other Lannisters in this world; instead, Lohar continues to tease Tyland with these names.

In the latest development, Team Green has secured a victory, yet they find themselves under intense pressure from Rhaenyra and her allies, who possess multiple dragons. The upcoming season of House of the Dragon promises chaos as Admiral Lohar and his team will undoubtedly stir up trouble.
