I’m thrilled to share that as a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my excitement over the addition of new talents in House of the Dragon‘s upcoming season 3! The talented Tom Cullen from Trespasses, Joplin Sibtain who shone in Andor, and Barry Sloane, known for Sandman, have all joined our beloved series. I can hardly wait to see their performances bring the world of Westeros to life once more!
According to Variety, Cullen will take on the role of Ser Luthor Largent, while Sibtain is expected to portray Ser “Bold” Jon Roxton. Last but not least, Sloane will star as Ser Adrian Redfort. These new additions join the existing cast that includes Matt Smith playing Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy playing Rhaenyra, and Olivia Cooke playing Alicent Hightower.
In addition to several other cast members, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, and Phia Saban will all return to their roles from the previous season.
Previously, it was revealed that HBO has added several new actors for season 3. James Norton is going to take on the character of Ormund Hightower, while Tommy Flanagan will assume the role of Lord Roderick Dustin. Lastly, Dan Fogler will be playing Ser Torrhen Manderly in the upcoming series.
Right now, they’re busy making the third installment of the television series inspired by “Game of Thrones”, which is a prequel. It’s based on George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood” from 2018, where it delves into the internal conflict within the Targaryen family that happened approximately 200 years before the main events in “Game of Thrones”.
In the second installment of the cherished show, tensions started brewing between the Greens and the Blacks as their allegiances became divided. Following the demise of King Viserys, Alicent Hightower (Cooke) and her offspring seized the throne from Rhaenyra Targaryen.
Rhaenyra chose to reclaim the throne that was rightfully hers according to the late king’s decree before his passing. With her sons and second husband/uncle Daemon by her side, she prepared for conflict against her half-siblings. As the second season unfolded, both parties began to amass their armies, officially marking the start of a civil war.
As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m just as excited as you about the forthcoming season of our favorite series, expected to hit screens in the sultry summer of 2026. In the meantime, quench your thirst for high-octane action and captivating drama by streaming seasons 1 and 2 of House of the Dragon, now available on Max. Enjoy the ride!
