Spoiler Alert: This article contains spoilers about House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 7

As a devoted follower, I must express that House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 7 brought a flicker of optimism to Team Blacks with Rhaenyra producing new Dragonriders. Although their lineage may not be as prestigious as the high-born or Valyrians, the thin-blooded Dragonseed riders will undoubtedly play a significant part in the impending civil war, the Dance of the Dragons.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 7 ending explained

In Episode 7, named “The Red Sowing,” we continue the story from the previous episode with Addam of Hull, Lord Corlys Velaryon’s illegitimate son, in peril as Seasmoke prepares to engulf him.

After chatting with Mysaria, known as The White Worm, Queen Rhaenyra decides to investigate who now controls Seasmoke, her dragon. Taking flight on Syrax, she seeks out Addam, only to discover that the mysterious cosmos seems to be aiding her in identifying prospective low-born Targaryen Dragonriders.

Simultaneously, Alyn of Hull, Addam’s brother and Lord Corlys’ trusted advisor, pledges to sail the seas alongside the Sea Snake once more, inspired by his brother’s valor. Apart from Addam, several other Dragonriders make an appearance for viewers to get familiarized with.

As an obsessed fan, I couldn’t contain my excitement as Mysaria’s meticulous plan began to bear fruit. The names of other bastards with Valyrian lineage, who could potentially tame dragons in the Vale of Dragonstone, were finally coming my way. Each new name brought a renewed sense of hope and anticipation.

1. While Ulf the White can boast ownership of a dragon, his actions are not particularly heroic. He even manages to evade Vermithor, who was poised to incinerate him. Instead, Ulf finds safety in Silverwing’s clutches. Soon after, we find Ulf navigating Silverwing through the skies over King’s Landing.

Despite being exposed to a growing number of dragonseeds, Prince Jacaerys is susceptible because he finds it hard to distinguish his lineage from theirs. The prince shares bloodlines with both the Strongs and the Targaryens, making him no different from the recent dragon riders. Queen Rhaenyra acknowledges her son’s doubts, but securing power in King’s Landing and asserting her claim to the Iron Throne as her birthright seems essential.

1. Just a stone’s throw from the upcoming Season finale, Queen Rhaneyra is likely to acquire another dragon. In the Eyrie, Rhaena has been spotted driving away the enormous Sheepstealer, a task given to her for caring for her siblings. It is speculated that she may soon tame this wild dragon.

Who are all the new dragons in Dragonstone?

Team Green has relied heavily on Vhagar’s power since the civil war began, while Sunfyre of King Aegon is now insignificant to King’s Landing. Queen Rhaenyra, with a limited ground army, can only count on three dragons. However, the latest episode reveals an impressive growth in dragon might. In essence, this is the Dance of the Dragons, and as Ser Criston Cole warned Queen Dowager Alicent, “the war has been handed over to the Dragons.”

1. Mentioning Daemon and his trusted dragon Caraxes, here’s the list of dragons now under Team Black’s command:

  • Rhaenyra / Syrax
  • Daemon / Caraxes
  • Baela / Moondancer
  • Jacaerys / Vermax
  • Erik Kain / Rhaelyx
  • Hugh Hammer / Vermithor
  • Ulf the White / Silverwing
  • Addam of Hull / Seasmoke

The infant princes, Prince Joffrey Velaryon and Prince Aegon Targaryen, are not yet old enough for the ongoing war. However, they have formed strong connections with their dragon companions, named Tyraxes and Stormcloud respectively.
