Growing up with Mean Girls and Party of Five, I’ve always admired Lacey’s talent, and now, as a widower finding love in the most unexpected way – with a snowman no less – she’ll undoubtedly captivate audiences once again.
On October 23rd, Netflix unveiled the trailer for the forthcoming romantic comedy titled Hot Frosty. This movie features Lacey Chabert in a unique role where she falls in love with a sentient snowman. Jerry Ciccoritti is the man behind the camera for this film, and it’s scheduled to hit Netflix screens during the upcoming holiday season.
From the movie’s trailer, it seems like viewers will be instantly swept up into the festive atmosphere of Christmas, experiencing the enchanting instances that the holiday period offers.
In this film, we’ll trace the journey of Kathy, a widow navigating through tough times. Eventually, she discovers a magical shawl and animates an enchanting snowman with it.
In the storyline of the movie, it’s described that “Two years after her husband’s passing, Kathy miraculously brings a charming snowman (portrayed by Dustin Milligan) to life! Guileless as he is, the snowman assists Kathy in finding joy, emotions, and love once more. As they grow fond of each other amidst the holiday season, before the snowman melts…
The main actors in this production include Danielle Chabert, Dustin Milligan, Katy Mixon, Lauren Holly, Joe Lo Truglio, Craig Robinson, and Chrishell Stause.
Initially viewing Hot Frosty, viewers will notice an impressive camaraderie between Chabert and Milligan. In a particular sequence, Kathy comments to the actor, “It’s evident that you’ve been keeping up with your push-ups.” At another point, Jack, played by Milligan, seeks advice from his neighbor regarding Kathy, saying, “I’ve never gone on a date before; could you guide me through this with Kathy?
Besides Ciccoritti, it was Russell Hainline who penned the screenplay. On the production side, Joel S. Rice and Michael Barbuto are now involved, contributing financially to the project.
In the meantime, Hot Frosty forms part of Netflix’s Christmas collection, with fresh holiday movies debuting each Wednesday. Besides the film starring Chabert and Milligan, upcoming titles include Meet Me Next Christmas, set for release on November 6, as well as Our Little Secret, featuring Lindsay Lohan, which is slated for a November 27 premiere.
In terms of their professional endeavors, the actress has gained recognition through her performances in Mean Girls and Party of Five. On the other side, Milligan made a recurring appearance on the hit sitcom Schitt’s Creek and Rutherford Falls.
