I’m really looking forward to Scream 7, the next installment in this iconic slasher series! I’ve heard it’s going to be great. It’s being directed by Kevin Williamson, and the script is by Guy Busick. They built the story from an idea by James Vanderbilt and Busick, so it sounds like it’s in good hands. I can’t wait to see it!
The film features returning cast members like Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Roger L. Jackson, and David Arquette. Joining them are newcomers Isabel May and Joel McHale.
The official logo for Scream 7 has been unveiled, and we’ll soon get a first look at the movie with a new trailer. The film is set to premiere in US cinemas on February 27, 2026, and will be brought to audiences by Paramount Pictures.
There have been some significant shifts in the making of Scream 7. Following the departure of the directors of Scream (2022) and Scream VI, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, in August 2023, Christopher Landon stepped in to direct the film.
However, the project underwent further adjustments when stars Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega departed in late 2023. Landon also moved on, and Kevin Williamson, a key figure from the original Scream movies, returned to take on the directorial role.
In March 2024, Neve Campbell announced she will be back for future installments after not appearing in Scream VI.
Filming for the movie began in Atlanta, Georgia, in January and finished in March. Initially, the plan was to start filming in September 2024, but scheduling issues caused a delay, and it ultimately began in December 2024. Scar Tissue was the project’s working title. Campbell explained the reasons for the change in plans.
The new film will feature returning characters, including Sidney Prescott, Gale Weathers, Dewey Riley, and Ghostface. Neve Campbell will reprise her role as Sidney, Courteney Cox is back as Gale, and David Arquette returns as Dewey.
I’m so excited to see Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown are back as Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin! And the cast is getting even better with Joel McHale joining as Sidney’s husband, Mark Evans, and Isabel May playing Sidney’s daughter. It’s going to be great to see these characters again!
Those who enjoyed the first films will be happy to see Matthew Lillard and Scott Foley reprise their roles as Stu Macher and Roman Bridger, appearing in the new installment in some capacity. The cast also includes Anna Camp, Mark Consuelos, Ethan Embry, Asa Germann, Mckenna Grace, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Michelle Randolph, and Jimmy Tatro, all with roles that haven’t been revealed yet.
