Blood and Honey,” faced harsh criticism from critics but had a more divided response among fans. Despite the negative reviews, it managed to make money at the theater.

The film’s quality was debated, facing criticism on various aspects such as its script, performances, cinematography, and humor deficiency; it even garnered five Razzie Awards. In response to these criticisms, Frake-Waterfield expressed his commitment to improving the quality of upcoming films in the series.

In March 2024, Jagged Edge Productions made it official that the series will be known as “The Twisted Childhood Universe”. Simultaneously, they revealed an entire lineup of films, leading up to a joint production. Here’s the initial artwork they unveiled earlier:

In 2023, the movie titled “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” grossed a global box office revenue of $7.7 million on an initial budget of just $100,000. The filmmaking team has two upcoming projects slated for U.S. cinemas in early 2025 – “Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare” and “Bambi: The Reckoning”. Here’s what we currently understand about the rest of their planned films:

Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare (2025)

Back in November 2022, it was revealed that a chilling film focusing on the central figures from Peter Pan and Wendy is under production; the same duo, Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Jeffrey, will produce the project once more.

It was eventually disclosed that Jeffrey had assumed the role of the director for a movie he penned himself. The filmmaker mentioned that the upcoming production would draw inspiration from an amalgamation of French cinematography, High Tension, and The Black Phone.

In this upcoming movie, due for release in 2025, the story revolves around Wendy’s mission to find her brother Michael, who has mysteriously vanished and been taken by Peter Pan and Tinker Bell. As per Frake-Waterfield, Tinker Bell will be depicted as struggling with obesity and substance abuse issues. Meanwhile, Jeffrey suggests that the character is addicted to heroin, believing it to be Pixie Dust.

Bambi: The Reckoning (2025)

Back in November 2022, it was revealed that a chilling movie titled “Life in the Woods” is being worked on. This film revolves around the iconic character from Bambi, and Dan Allen has been tapped to direct. The script for this spine-tingling tale has been penned by Rhys Warrington. Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Jeffrey will return as producers.

The plot follows a woman named Xana and her son named Benji, who must fight to survive when they find themselves as prey to a mutated, grieving, killing machine of a deer following a car wreck.

Under its official title “Bambi: The Reckoning”, this upcoming movie is being developed by ITN Studios and Jagged Edge Productions. Jeffrey, one of the creators, has described it as a “starkly dark reinterpretation of the beloved 1928 tale, drawing inspiration from the sinister aesthetic of Netflix’s ‘The Ritual’. The new Bambi will be portrayed as a ruthless predator prowling the wilderness.” The film is slated for release in 2025.

Pinocchio: Unstrung (2025)

2024, I stumbled upon an exciting announcement in February: A chilling horror movie was underway, revolving around none other than our beloved Pinocchio! It wasn’t just him though, they hinted that other characters from cherished childhood tales would also make their appearance in this thrilling narrative.

Under the official title “Pinocchio: Unstrung”, initial concept artwork has been unveiled. Details about the storyline, the creative team such as the director and writer, will be disclosed at a future date. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in 2025.

The movie centers around James, the child of carver Geppetto, who encounters Geppetto’s enchanted doll Pinocchio and guides him into the larger world. However, Pinocchio’s innocence leads him astray, resulting in a deadly quest to eradicate all evil. In November 2024, Robert Englund was selected to play the main character, with Richard Brake cast as Geppetto.

These films were made feasible due to various famous characters transitioning into public domain following the expiration of their copyrights, among them numerous ones that gained popularity through Disney.
