As a fervent admirer of Hayley Atwell‘s acting prowess and versatility, I am absolutely ecstatic about her return to the Tomb Raider universe! Her dedication to Lara Croft is evident from her eagerness to continue portraying the iconic character in future seasons. It’s not every day that we get to witness an actress who can effortlessly transition from a MI6 agent to a gaming archeologist, all while maintaining the same level of brilliance!
Hayley Atwell is excited to take on Lara Croft again for the new Tomb Raider production. The actress, who recently appeared in Netflix’s adaptation of the well-known video game series Tomb Raider, discussed the upcoming project with GamesRadar and expressed her desire to be part of future installments.
She expressed her joy about working with this amazing team: “I had a fantastic time doing this!” she stated. “I’d be delighted to collaborate further, or to keep Lara connected in some other way,” she continued. Additionally, she appreciated the backing provided by director Meredith Layne, showrunner Tasha Huo, and Netflix during production. “It feels like a top-tier animation, and they truly aimed for emotional accuracy,” Atwell emphasized.
Actress from Mission Impossible also expressed her desire to portray Lara Croft beyond the animated version of the character. Atwell stated that being part of the franchise in another capacity would be a “great honor,” one she would handle with care. “It’s intriguing that she stays current, and I find that captivating,” the actress further commented.
As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but express my awe when reminiscing about Camilla Luddington’s role as the iconic Lara Croft in Tomb Raider: The Legend. Interestingly, it was Rose Leslie (Atwell) who breathed life into Lara’s character in this installment of the franchise. Notably, showrunner Huo commended Atwell’s interpretation of Lara, highlighting her fearless spirit that was always ready to tackle any obstacle head-on.
When he discovered the actress was incredibly bold, he’d put obstacles in her path without hesitation, and she’d tackle them fearlessly. As Huo explained, “If you’re leaping from an airplane, Lara, that’s just what you need to do,” and then she would respond nonchalantly, “Oh, I jumped out of a plane last week, so I’ve got this covered.
In addition to the new Tomb Raider movies, t The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider: Chronicles, and Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness coming up. As for the actress from Black Mirror, she will be returning to play her Mission Impossible character Grace in the next installment of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning.
