Introduction
Kick off the Year of the Snake 2025 with our Honor of Kings Tier List! We’re not going to categorize every single hero currently available, but instead, we’ll offer you a top ten list of heroes that will help you excel in solo queue ranked mode. Mastering all the heroes within a short timeframe can be difficult, so why not focus on the META (popular and effective) heroes to climb the ranks more quickly? Let’s take a look at the tier list first, then we can delve into each hero’s details later.
Honor of Kings Solo-Q Tier List
SS-Tier | Yixing Dyadia Dolia |
S-Tier | Augran Loong Lam Marco Polo Hou Yi |
A-Tier | Daji Da Qiao |
N-Tier | These heroes fall into one of three categories: they’re the “just play whatever heroes you enjoy” type, they’re almost always banned in ranked play, or they’re too difficult to master (I’m not accusing you of having skill issues) and are better suited for a 5-friends composition in ranked mode (not that you have any). As such, they will not be discussed. |
Top Tier Heroes in Honor of Kings
No.10 – Da Qiao
Character Qiao is a potent hero, boasting a game-altering teleportation power that allows for tactical repositioning and robust crowd control to disrupt enemies at critical junctures. Use this teleportation skill thoughtfully to either rescue teammates or launch unexpected ambushes against the enemy team. Prioritize cooldown reduction and durability to amplify her impact. Combine her with heroes who deal burst damage to optimize her usefulness.
No.9 – Daji
In combat situations, Daji specializes in dealing high damage to individual opponents and capitalizing on poor enemy positions. It’s crucial to eliminate high-value targets before engaging battles to gain an edge for your team. However, keep in mind that Daji is quite fragile, especially when it comes to crowd control abilities. To maximize her effectiveness, concentrate on increasing her magic power and penetration as these aspects will enhance her damage output and allow her to eliminate essential enemies more swiftly.
No.8 – Hou Yi
Hou Yi’s exceptional area-of-effect (AoE) damage and long range make him an ideal pick for managing team fights and dismantling enemy formations. It is important to position Hou Yi wisely during gameplay—maintain a safe distance while maximizing your damage potential. Focus on enhancing critical chance and attack speed when building items, as this will help ensure optimal performance. Regardless of who your teammates are, concentrate on leading everyone to the next rank. If you happen to lose, it may not be your fault; perhaps you were simply paired with less skilled teammates.
No.7 – Marco Polo
Marco Polo is an elite Marsman who deals true damage that ignores shields and defenses, making him a game-breaking option against tough opponents. His agility allows him to dodge crucial abilities. Use Marco Polo’s ultimate in crucial situations to unleash massive area-of-effect (AoE) damage. Team him up with supports like Yaria to boost his survivability. Prioritize lifesteal, penetration, and attack speed when building your items to maximize his damage potential. Remember, if you lose, it’s possible that your teammates could have used better coordination.
No.6 – Lam
As a fan, I’d say I’m absolutely smitten with Lam, the Assassin-class hero! He’s such a game-changer, even for beginners like me. His specialty is sneaking behind enemy lines to take out those fragile targets – mages and marksmen – making him a real thorn in the side of any team. To make the most of Lam’s agility, I focus on disrupting the backline and slipping away before they can retaliate. Timing is key here; I jump into battles once the enemy has exhausted their crowd control abilities. I also prioritize building attack damage and penetration to amplify his burst damage and secure swift takedowns.
And remember—if you lose with Lam, it’s never your fault.
No.5 – Loong
Moving forward in our Honor of Kings hero rankings, I’ll be delving deeper into the details. Loong is a force to reckon with due to his reliable damage output and scalability, making him a dominant figure in late-game battles, capable of tearing through enemy defenses and propelling his team to victory. In combat situations, it’s best to stay behind the front line to avoid getting targeted by enemy assassins. Loong performs optimally when paired with supportive characters who can shield him, enabling him to maintain control. Focus on building attack speed and critical chance to amplify your damage output and keep consistent pressure throughout the game. During the laning phase, engage in brief skirmishes and NEVER initiate prolonged fights early on, as Loong boasts a high burst but lacks strong DPS during the early and mid-game. He has inherent sustainability, so utilize it to trade blows and quickly recover health—most marksmen lack this feature, giving you an edge to engage in multiple trades and recuperate.
Loong possesses a non-skillshot stun as well, so ask your support to delay using their abilities until after you’ve used your third skill to maximize crowd control (CC) chain effectiveness, even in the later stages of the game. His ultimate is crucial, so avoid using it to initiate fights unless you’re incredibly powerful. Instead, save it for escaping and luring enemies, as it helps you dodge most abilities. As a marksman, prioritize your survival over securing kills. You can catch enemy assassins or fighters off guard with a double use of Skill 2 for healing, or surprise tanks with double Skill 1 for massive true damage. However, remember to balance your utility, healing, and damage for maximum benefit from your passive. Lastly, don’t neglect to frequently use Skill 3 to quickly return to the lane—many skilled players tend to overlook this.
No.4 – Augran
In this article, we delve into the strengths and special talents of the character Augran, which make him a tough adversary. We’ll discuss his optimal build strategies and gameplay tactics to help you become proficient with him. If there are any heroes you’re curious about, please share your preferences in the comments section, and the hero receiving the most votes will be the focus of my next post. Enjoy the read, and remember to follow for additional guides!
Augran is a durable DPS warrior with exceptional mobility, superior healing abilities, and adaptable skills. His passive ability allows him to inflict magical damage through soul chains, while his initial skill grants swift movement speed and the ability to traverse terrain effortlessly. The second skill offers area slowing effects and healing, and his ultimate provides a shield and healing, summoning spirits for extra damage. For optimal results, concentrate on boosting attack speed, increasing health, and equipping tanky items to amplify both his healing and damage potential. Prioritize upgrading the second skill first, followed by the initial skill, and prioritize his ultimate when possible. Augran’s versatility makes him a formidable option for map control, consistent damage output, and durable survivability in team battles.
No.3 – Dolia
Dolia is exceptional in offering utility and crowd control during team battles, making her a decisive factor in certain skirmishes. Effective communication is crucial when controlling Dolia – work closely with your team to optimize her abilities. She synergizes effectively with heroes who deal burst damage such as Daji, Lubu, and Marco Polo, as she can rejuvenate teammates’ skills for even more powerful effects. To make the most of her influence in fights, prioritize building cooldown reduction and durability. The aggressive support role of Dolia relies heavily on her first skill, which puts pressure on the enemy’s ADC while granting your own ADC an advantage in gold from bird minions. In the early stages of the game, assist in quickly clearing lanes, capturing jungle camps, and taking control of the mid sprite before moving to support other lanes or destroying towers.
When playing Solo-Q, prioritize farming your lane initially, then join your teammates in other lanes to help with tower pushes, allowing your ADC to either assist others or continue farming. If the enemy support comes to farm and kills your ADC, continue focusing on farming first. Utilize Dolia’s Skill 2 for significant healing, particularly for teammates needing to stay in lane. During the laning phase, leave a health pool for teammates to heal from and push back enemies. Pay attention to the marksman as they are frequently targeted by junglers (who may later blame you), while also rotating to mid lane to support the mage after pushing an enemy tower. As a support, always monitor the mini-map and stay near the river to enhance your teammates’ map awareness.
No.2 – Dyadia
Dyadia shines in her ability to heal, maintain her team during prolonged battles, and control crowds to guarantee victories. Stationed at the back of the battlefield, she eludes attention while ensuring her comrades survive. Her key strengths lie in her temporary restraints and potent single-target healing, particularly when an assassin or jungler threatens her team’s safety. In these instances, she can immobilize them while the team rearranges positions, then restore their health. Dyadia is a proficient anti-engagement support mage, safeguarding the backline and enabling DPS to inflict damage. Combine her with high-damage characters to boost your team’s prowess. Prioritize cooldown reduction and survivability in her equipment setup.
As I delve into the world of gaming, I find myself drawn to the intricate character known as Dyadia. Her mastery demands precision timing, given her challenging learning curve. Once you’ve got the hang of it, though, she’s a force to be reckoned with.
Her initial skill grants me both healing and a jump, which comes in handy when dodging danger (unless they’ve CC’d me). I’m essentially a disruptor support, so I need to focus on beefing up my magic, HP, and survivability rather than dealing damage.
Moreover, Dyadia can mark up to two teammates, boosting their gold earnings and healing potential when we’re close by. Simultaneously, she slows down enemy movement speed and reduces their gold gains when they’re marked. This dynamic encourages us to work together, disrupt the enemies, and strengthen our team cohesion and control.
No.1 – Yixing
Yixing is an exceptional mage, particularly known for his high damage output and effective crowd control, making him a significant force in both team battles and skirmishes. Be mindful of his placement to dodge potential attacks while optimizing his damage. His crowd control abilities can lead to crucial kills and hinder enemy strategies. To keep up the pressure in fights, focus on increasing his magic power and cooldown reduction. Yixing shines in teamwork, so it’s crucial to time his ultimate skill with your teammates. His passive provides impressive survivability by preventing him from being instantly killed, but it’s wise not to wander alone.
Yixing’s quick cool-down times and chargeable abilities make him a frequent user, dealing substantial damage with basic attacks. His ultimate boosts teamwork-based damage. However, his low AP scaling (0.15 for key skills) means he needs precise placement of chess pieces to trigger passive explosions effectively. To maximize his damage output, learn the range of his abilities and place chess pieces strategically, particularly for revealing enemies or preventing ganks. Focus on sustained damage, avoid overextending, and use his ultimate for counterattacks instead of initiating. Upgrade his first skill first to manage mana and clear lanes efficiently. This hero is highly recommended in our Honor of Kings Tier List!
