Honkai: Star Rail – Yunli build and ascension guide

Search everywhere for all those cursed swords using the top-notch Honkai: Star Rail Yunli build, then merge them into your ultimate weapon. Yunli, who follows The Destruction, is known for dealing Physical Damage and excels at delivering powerful counterattacks.

The ability, Bladeborn Quake, inflicts physical damage upon its target and nearby adversaries, simultaneously restoring some of her health. The strength of both her damage and healing is tied to her attack power.

With Yunli’s Skill from Flashforge, she can swiftly gather extra Energy and retaliate against an attacker as well as nearby enemies, inflicting Physical Damage that is proportional to her Attack power.

Yunli’s special moves, Earthbind, Etherbreak, and Parry Stance, cause her to enter a defensive state and mock all opponents. This status remains active until the end of the next ally’s or enemy’s turn. When in the Parry state, Yunli’s Counter ability deals extra CRIT damage and uses the enhanced version, Intuit Cull, instead of the standard Intuit Slash. If Counter isn’t activated while she’s in the defensive state, she automatically unleashes Intuit Slash once the state ends. Both of her Counters inflict Physical damage on the target and nearby foes, proportional to Yunli’s ATK. However, Intuit Cull follows up with multiple attacks against a single random enemy after the initial strike.

All of Yunli’s Counters are classified as Follow-Up Attacks.

Acquiring extra Yunli figurines elevates her Eidolon Levels, granting additional bonuses. Here’s what each Eidolon level does:

1. Eidolon 1 enhances the damage of Yunli’s Ultimate’s Counter attacks and multiplies the number of damages dealt by Counter: Intuit Cull.
2. Eidolon 2 enables Counters to bypass a portion of an enemy’s Defense.
3. Eidolon 4 fortifies Yunli’s Effect Resistance for a turn following her Ultimate’s Counter.
4. Eidolon 6 empowers Yunli to use Counter: Intuit Cull against any enemy utilizing an ability, regardless of its target, and increases the Critical Rate and Physical Resistance Penetration of her Ultimate’s Counters.

HSR – Yunli: best Light Cones

Just like other top-tier characters, Yunli boasts an ideal Light Cone, reinforced by her unique gear – Dance at Sunset. This equipment not only boosts Critical Damage but also raises the probability of its user being targeted for attack, a situation that typically harms damage dealers. However, this trait is beneficial to Yunli as she heavily relies on Counters in her playstyle.

Moreover, using an Ultimate in Dance at Sunset adds a layer of Firedance to its user. This Firedance persists for two rounds and can have a maximum of two layers. Each layer enhances the user’s damage during Follow-Up Attacks. Similarly, this Light Cone trait is beneficial to Clara due to these characteristics.

  • Dance at Sunset (5-Star)
  • Something Irreplaceable (5-Star)
  • The Unreachable Side (5-Star)
  • On the Fall of an Aeon (5-Star)

  • Under the Blue Sky (4-Star)

HSR – Yunli: best Relics

Yunli aims to accumulate as many offensive statistics as possible. Since all of her offensive actions increase based on ATK, it becomes a vital aspect of your character setup. Speed (SPD) is comparatively less significant because most of Yunli’s damage originates from counter-attacks, allowing you to fill the remaining attribute slots with characteristics that enhance her resilience.

HSR – Yunli: best teams

As a gamer, I’ve found that Yunli is quite adaptable when it comes to forming my team, but she really shines when paired with a Follow-Up Attack party setup. This configuration lets me equip Duran with the Planar Ornament set, which boosts her individual damage potential significantly.

  • Yunli (Main DPS), Topaz (Sub DPS), Robin (Support), Aventurine (Support)

In simple terms, the Follow-Up Attack team strategically amplifies advantages from Duran, Dynasty of Running Wolves, offering interconnected bonuses among its members. Yunli and Topaz will take on the primary role of dealing damage, while Robin enhances their offensive capabilities and Aventurine serves as a dependable defensive barrier for the group.

As a gamer, I’ve found that Sparkle, Tingyun, and Bronya make fantastic companions for Yunli. The March 7th (Preservation) ability works wonderfully with her, providing a protective shield and boosting her taunt power. This means Yunli gets to keep attracting enemy attacks consistently, which is incredibly useful if I don’t have her Light Cone to offer passive taunt value.

As a fan, I’d recommend teaming her up with Yunli and using Jade as the Debt Collector. With Yunli’s ability to strike multiple targets, Jade can consistently boost her Follow-Up Attack power.

HSR – Yunli: Trace and ascension materials

To help Yunli reach the highest level and enhance all her abilities, here’s what you should do:

1. Familiarize yourself with the necessary steps.
2. Make sure she has enough experience points to ascend.
3. Upgrade each of her talents one by one.
4. Repeat this process until all her talents are at their maximum level.

To reach level 80, Yunli needs these elevation resources as well as the required experience points:

  • Credits x308,000
  • Artifex’s Module x15
  • Artifex’s Cogwheel x15
  • Artifex’s Gyreheart x15
  • IPC Work Permit x65

In Xianzhou Luofu and the Simulated Universe, you can gather Artifex’s Modules, Cogwheels, and Gyrehearts from defeated enemies. You also have the option to create or trade these items using the Omni-Synthesizer on the Astral Express. Artifex’s Modules are a resource that you can efficiently farm by completing Daily Assignments for your characters. This provides a consistent supply of this material. The IPC Work Permit can be obtained from the Stagnant Shadow in Penacony, or acquired through exchange. Credits can primarily be obtained from Golden Calyxes found across various worlds.

Yunli requires the following materials to upgrade her combat abilities and Traces:

  • Credits x3,000,000
  • Artifex’s Module x41
  • Artifex’s Cogwheel x56
  • Artifex’s Gyreheart x58
  • Borisin Teeth x18
  • Lupitoxin Sawteeth x69
  • Moon Rage Fang x139
  • Regret of Infinite Ochema x12
  • Tracks of Destiny x8

To find Borisin Teeth and their upgrades, look at the information given earlier (you’ll find them in the Crimson Calyx, also known as Scalegorge Waterscape). For creating advanced materials, follow this process: use lower-level materials within the Omni-Synthesizer onboard the Astral Express.

The scarce resource known as Regret of Infinite Ochema is exclusively acquired when you conquer Phantylia within the Scalegorge Waterscape domain in the Echo of War. On the other hand, Tracks of Destiny can be obtained during special events, such as the Embers Exchange, Nameless Honor, or even as a prize for accumulating Simulated Universe Points.
