Actress Margaret Qualley is teaming up once more with filmmaker Ethan Coen for the dark comedy “Honey Don’t!”, distributed by Focus Features. Alongside Qualley in this project are Aubrey Plaza and Chris Evans. Previously, Qualley and Coen worked together on “Drive-Away Dolls,” a collaboration that earned them praise from critics.
Today, trailers for the eagerly anticipated movie were unveiled on various platforms, offering sneak peeks into the upcoming plot. From the trailer, it seems that viewers can expect a blend of suspenseful mysteries, intense action sequences, and humorous one-liners when the film is released.
As a seasoned lifestyle consultant, allow me to share an intriguing insight: I find myself immersed in the captivating storyline where I take on the role of Honey O’Donahue, a private investigator based in a quaint town. The case at hand is bizarre and chilling – a string of mysterious deaths that seem to be connected to a cult led by Priest Drew. It promises an exhilarating journey of uncovering truths hidden within the shadowy corners of this seemingly peaceful community.
The trailer begins with Father Drew stating, “There’s no greater duty than submission.” Then it cuts to Honey entering the Bakersfield Police station, where she encounters MJ, portrayed by Plaza. MJ provides Honey with the address she needed and compliments her stylish heels.
Next, Honey arrives at the site of an accident where a woman, Mia Novotny, sadly lies lifeless within her vehicle. Notably, she finds a ring that appears to be associated with the cult led by the Four-way Temple.
Upon catching sight of Reverend Drew, there’s nothing about him that suggests a man of the cloth. Instead, his private moment with two women is disrupted by a gunman.
Later on, it is revealed that Honey has been probing into Novotny’s demise because she had vowed to aid him with an issue that law enforcement wished to stay clear of. During her visit to Novotny’s residence, Honey stumbles upon something that casts doubt on Father Drew. When Honey and Drew cross paths, they engage in a humorous exchange, but their interaction leads to no significant outcome.
