In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, director Christina Voros, who helmed four of the final six episodes of Yellowstone, discusses why John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner, remains crucial to the show despite his upcoming departure. With the much-awaited finale episodes on the horizon, Voros shares insights into how the character’s presence continues to shape the storyline.

She informed the media outlet that his role was crucial, stating, “John Dutton continues to be the heart of the story.” However, she chose not to reveal specifics, explaining, “Disclosing more might jeopardize all the efforts put into editing the scripts.” Later, she confirmed that Costner’s character would maintain its position as the head of the Dutton family, and his influence would persist throughout the series.

unexpectedly, the actor chose to leave the TV series, taking everyone by surprise. While some speculated it was due to creative disagreements with the production team, Costner himself did not confirm this.
