Back when news broke about Alec Baldwin’s involvement in the Rust shooting incident, everyone was on tenterhooks, especially with the tragic events unfolding on set – culminating in the heart-wrenching loss of cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins. The trial surrounding this case was highly anticipated but ultimately dismissed by the judge in 2024. Looking back at that tumultuous period, Alec’s wife, Hilaria, has shared her own apprehensions about it all.
On the March 9th episode of The Baldwins, Hilaria expressed her uncertainty about the trial’s outcome. She explained, “It might sound silly, but I penned letters for the kids I left behind and hid them. I informed a friend where they were in case something unfortunate happened to us.
The star of the reality show explained that their oldest child, Carmen (11 years old), had asked her the previous night if there was a specific way she should address her father when he goes to New Mexico. During the show, Hilaria shared that she became anxious, fearing that when Alec and she appear in court, someone might try to harm them.
In the television program, the mother of seven discussed her husband’s struggles during the early stages of their relationship. She also revealed discovering distressing text conversations between herself and Alec, leading him to express a desire to take his own life.
She expressed that he struggles with feelings of survivor’s guilt. Additionally, she mentioned that the actor often wishes he could take his place instead, expressing this sentiment quickly if given the chance.
In addition to revealing the impact it’s had on his emotional state and overall health, the reality TV personality mentioned past incidents of Alec experiencing recurring fainting spells due to heart problems over the last couple of years.
For those unfamiliar, during the filming of the Rust movie in 2021, it’s reported that the actor handled a prop gun which accidentally went off. Tragically, this led to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured Joel Souza. Alec Baldwin took responsibility for the incident, as stated by US Weekly.
In 2023, all charges against him were dropped. However, it is said that he was later indicted for the murder of Hutchins. Last year, the judge dismissed this case.
