Kreskin, often referred to as The Amazing Kreskin, has sadly passed away at the age of 89. This renowned mentalist gained fame by hosting his own television shows during the 1970s.
On December 11, 2024, Kreskin’s family made the initial announcement about something via a post on their social media platform.
With deep sadness, we share the news of the death of The Amazing Kreskin (born as George Kresge), who passed away at the age of 89.
The family stated that entertaining crowds throughout his profession was a source of “tremendous happiness” for him.
The statement also noted that Kreskin “deeply cherished” his live performances.
If you’re not familiar with his work, Kreskin the Mentalist was the host of a highly praised TV series called “The Amazing World of Kreskin” from 1972 to 1975. This show was aired on CTV in Canada and syndicated across the U.S. television networks.
From 1975 to 1977, he appeared in The New Kreskin Show.
In his 1991 book, “Secrets of the Amazing Kreskin”, he made it clear that he is neither a psychic, an occultist, fortune teller, mind reader, medium, nor hypnotist. He also stressed that there’s no element of supernatural in his performances.
He called himself a scientist as well as a researcher in a field called “extrasensory perceptions.”
Kreskin even mentioned that he simply performs what he discovers in scientific research.
Born on January 12, 1935, in Montclair, New Jersey, the renowned mentalist and entertainer known as The Amazing Kreskin was originally named George Joseph Kresge.
Besides being renowned for his own television series, Kreskin also graced numerous chat shows, including The Tonight Show hosted by Johnny Carson, The Merv Griffin Show, The Mike Douglas Show, Late Night with David Letterman, and countless others.
