As an ardent cinephile who grew up idolizing the legendary Clint Eastwood, getting the chance to work alongside him on “Juror #2” was nothing short of a life-altering experience for me. I vividly remember watching his films during my formative years, enamored by the raw talent and unparalleled storytelling that defined each one. So, when I found myself standing on set, face-to-face with one of my heroes, it felt like a dream come true – if dreams were real, of course!

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hoult shared his excitement about potentially collaborating with Eastwood, describing it as a “fulfilled dream” since he admired Eastwood’s films during his childhood years. He added that while there are common expressions about not meeting one’s heroes, Eastwood is different because he is composed, humorous, and engaging, making their encounter truly enjoyable.
The Menu’s leading actor remarked, “It’s often advised not to meet your idols, but this instance is exceptional. He’s not just composed and collected, but also possesses an effortless grace about life and interpersonal relationships. There’s an appealing charm about him, a sparkle in his eye, and he always manages to keep things light-hearted with a great sense of humor.
In addition to commending Eastwood’s dedication and his work, as well as his welcoming demeanor towards both collaborators and spectators, and fostering a sense of community, Hoult remarked, “[Eastwood] values what he produces, he has faith in the individuals nearby him and he also believes in the audience.
Toni Collette, who played the prosecutor in the trial, not only commended Eastwood for his directing skills but also stated that she would have gone to great lengths for him and referred to him as an exceptional director. In conversation with the mentioned publication, the actress from Hereditary remembered the positive vibe on set and highlighted the close-knit bond between the cast and crew.
