Here’s that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 mod that turns everyone into skeletons you asked for

Just about a month back, the modding community for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was making everyone in the game resemble plump globes of flesh. However, trends shift rapidly in the medieval era. Slim is the new fashionable, thanks to this mod that converts every KCD 2 character into genuine skeletal structures.

Maker erdeminofff describes this modification as having a dual effect: amusing and chilling. The Skeleton Mod – Turn Everyone into a Skeleton, as its title suggests but may not fully convey, alters the character models within the game. Not only does it transform Henry, but also every other character model, into an intricate arrangement of bones.

The unique feature that sets this mod apart, and what makes it stand out as humorous, is its focus on replacing just the character’s body while leaving their clothes, hairstyle, and facial hair (such as beards) untouched. This quirky twist gives the mod a comical feel, and the screenshots shared by Erdeminofff showcasing the mod in action are all quite amusing.

“I used to enjoy a pint of ale, but these days it goes right through me.”

It’s hard for me to determine if it would be more advantageous or disadvantageous for a skeleton to be marked. Benefits include the absence of nerve endings. Drawbacks are that there would be a significantly higher chance of catching fire.

Here’s skeleton Henry and Ser Hans getting caught with their pants, er, up.

This picture clearly shows if the modification operates in first-person perspective, and it does an outstanding job, to put it mildly.

I call this one “Love in the Time of Collarbone.”

According to Erdeminofff, the mod is currently in its initial phase, which means it may have some bugs due to an early release. This decision was made because technical difficulties were becoming tiresome and the official tools for creating the mod were delayed. However, improvements have been made since then, such as making the mod applicable to female characters as well as males, and replacing human character heads with skulls. To be honest, swapping out entire models to just skulls except for the head sounds much more unsettling than a traditional skeleton.

Additional features for the mod are still under development, such as “skeletal dogs and horses” and settings to limit skeletonization to specific characters and groups. Currently, there’s an option that transforms Henry into a skeleton, but it might be more amusing if everyone except Henry became a skeleton instead.

You can find and download the Skeleton Mod in this location. Some might perceive this mod as conflicting with Warhorse Studios’ emphasis on realism in their game, but I believe it enhances authenticity instead. After all, every individual from medieval times that I have come across appears to be a skeleton – it’s simply logical.
