Season two of Gen V is just around the corner, landing on Prime Video on September 17th. As we countdown to its release, we’re uncovering more details about what lies ahead. The second year will serve as a connecting bridge between seasons four and five of The Boys. Additionally, there’s an anticipated crossover appearance by Starlight, teaming up with Marie Moreau. However, there’s a lot more in store for this season, as hinted at by a recent interview with Gen V conducted by Entertainment Weekly.
Now, we have a clear timeline for when Gen V is set. In this universe, The Boys storyline unfolds around Inauguration Day in January. It’s currently August, and the world has been under Homelander’s control for several months in this fictional America. It looks like Marie might be the one to save God U, but according to showrunner Eric Kripke, that may not be the case.
Kripke points out, “If she’s capable of regulating everyone’s blood, one might wonder what else she can’t accomplish, making her seem like the most powerful superhero in the world. However, just because she has the potential for greatness doesn’t mean she’s already there. It seems this is a common struggle among adolescents – the pressure to live up to high expectations, but not quite being ready yet to fully embrace your greatness.
Regardless of the circumstances, Marie will significantly enhance her abilities during this season, as suggested by the climactic battle on campus. And if Jaz Sinclair’s commentary is any guide, it promises to be quite a spectacle. “Marie has been an underdog all along,” said Jaz Sinclair. “The growth of my powers in season 2 was really intriguing. The anticipation and the implications of what this could mean for Marie made this season especially enjoyable for me.
We cannot wait for our college supes to spring back to action soon.
