Here Are the Best TV Shows to Stream this Weekend on Peacock, Including ‘Brilliant Minds’

Peacock is releasing new episodes of several popular shows over the weekend of September 26-28, 2025, including returning favorites, late-night programs, and a new medical series. We’ve put together quick summaries of each show – covering the plot, cast, and creators – to help you easily plan your weekend viewing.

This list is organized to make finding what you want easy. We start with the shows and movies added most recently, then feature originals created for Peacock, and finally include timeless classics and historically significant series. All titles will appear with their original names, and you’ll only see years listed in the headings, just as you asked.

‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ (1999–)

As a big fan of crime dramas, I’ve always been hooked on ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’. It’s fascinating to watch how the detectives and lawyers at the 16th Precinct tackle these incredibly difficult sex crimes cases, following everything from the initial call to the final verdict in court. Mariska Hargitay is phenomenal as Captain Olivia Benson, and it’s great to see Ice-T and Peter Scanavino as part of the team too. I’m really looking forward to the new episode coming out on Friday, September 26th!

As a long-time viewer, I’ve always appreciated the solid foundation of this show, created by Dick Wolf. Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television continue to deliver, and the show’s always benefited from strong leadership – most recently with showrunners like David Graziano, and soon, Michele Fazekas taking the helm in 2025. What really sets it apart, though, is the attention to detail. They clearly do their homework, consulting with legal and law enforcement professionals to make each week’s case feel authentic, all while building these really compelling, ongoing stories for the characters we’ve come to know and love.

‘Law & Order’ (1990–)

The original ‘Law & Order’ pioneered the show’s now-famous format: the first part of each episode focuses on a police investigation, while the second part follows the prosecutors building their case. The current cast includes Tony Goldwyn, Hugh Dancy, Odelya Halevi, Mehcad Brooks, Reid Scott, and Camryn Manheim, and a new episode is set to air on Friday, September 26th.

As a long-time fan, I’ve always appreciated how ‘Law & Order’ stays relevant. Dick Wolf’s company, Wolf Entertainment, works with Universal Television to make it happen, and Rick Eid has done an amazing job as showrunner, keeping the stories focused on the kinds of legal cases we see in the news today. They’re really good at mixing things up with different directors for on-location shoots and courtroom scenes, but they always maintain that signature style of basing episodes on real-life events.

‘The Voice’ (2011–)

‘The Voice’ is a singing competition created by John de Mol where hopefuls compete through several stages – Blind Auditions, Battles, Knockouts, and Live Shows – with the help of famous coaches. Carson Daly hosts the show, and a new episode will air on Tuesday, September 23.

The show is overseen by executive producers like John de Mol Jr., Mark Burnett, and Audrey Morrissey. Alan Carter, an experienced director of live television and concerts, is directing, and a dedicated music team is preparing all the arrangements and band music as the show prepares for broadcast.

Brilliant Minds’ (2024–2025)

‘Brilliant Minds’ follows Dr. Oliver Wolf, a neurologist, and his team as they tackle unusual and challenging brain cases. The show combines the latest scientific advancements with the personal stories of the patients they treat. Zachary Quinto leads the cast, which also includes Tamberla Perry, Ashleigh LaThrop, and others. A new episode will be available on Tuesday, September 23rd.

The series was created by Michael Grassi and draws inspiration from the work of Oliver Sacks. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Lee Toland Krieger, DeMane Davis, Henrik Bastin, Melissa Aouate, Jonathan Cavendish, Will Tennant, and Andy Serkis served as executive producers. Universal Television was one of the production studios involved.

‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ (2014–)

NBC’s long-running late-night show features a current events-based opening monologue, interviews with celebrities, comedic sketches, and live musical performances. The show broadcasts from Studio 6B at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, with Steve Higgins as announcer and The Roots, led by Questlove, as the house band. A new episode will air on Tuesday, September 23rd.

Lorne Michaels oversees the show as executive producer, with Broadway Video and Universal Television handling production. The show’s style developed from Jimmy Fallon’s previous work on ‘Late Night,’ and a large team of writers and producers create new content every day to keep the show current.

‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ (2014–)

‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ comes to you from Studio 8G and combines current events commentary in a monologue with popular segments like “A Closer Look.” The show also features interviews with a variety of guests, including actors, writers, musicians, and other notable people. A new episode will air on Tuesday, September 23rd.

Mike Shoemaker produces the show, with Lorne Michaels as executive producer – a connection that highlights its roots in ‘Saturday Night Live.’ The writing team creates ongoing segments and pre-recorded bits based on what’s happening in the news, and guests include both famous actors and people in the headlines.

‘The Paper’ (2025–)

“The Paper” is a funny, fictional documentary series created by Greg Daniels and Michael Koman. It follows a film crew-the same one from “The Office”-as they document the efforts to save a local newspaper in Toledo, Ohio. The show began streaming on Peacock on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

Domhnall Gleeson and Sabrina Impacciatore star in the show, with a guest appearance by Oscar Nuñez from ‘The Office.’ Universal Television created the 10-episode comedy for Peacock, filming it in a documentary-style format with each episode lasting about thirty minutes.

‘LEGO Ninjago: Dragons Rising’ (2023–)

Following the events of “the Merge,” the latest season of ‘LEGO Ninjago: Dragons Rising’ introduces new characters Arin and Sora alongside returning ninja Lloyd. Together, they’re tasked with safeguarding elemental dragons in a world where realms have combined. Season 3 will be available to stream on Peacock starting Thursday, September 4, 2025.

This show is a collaboration between WildBrain Studios and The LEGO Group. The voice actors include Sam Vincent, Vincent Tong, Kelly Metzger, Brent Miller, Andrew Francis, Deven Mack, and Sabrina Pitre. Each episode is around 22 minutes long and the show is made at WildBrain’s studio in Vancouver.

‘Wheel of Fortune’ (1983–)

Wheel of Fortune, the popular game show where players guess hidden phrases to win cash and prizes, is coming to Peacock on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Created by Merv Griffin, the show involves contestants spinning a wheel and solving puzzles displayed on a lit-up board.

This show, created by Sony Pictures Television and filmed at their studio in Culver City, features classic game show elements like trivia questions, opportunities to win prizes, and spaces that can help or hinder players. The game culminates in a bonus round where the top contestant tries to solve a final puzzle for a chance to win big.

‘Buried in the Backyard’ (2018– )

This Oxygen series takes a close look at crimes that were solved after victims were found on someone’s property. Each case is rebuilt using original documents, interviews with police, and detailed forensic evidence. A new season began streaming on Peacock on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

Each episode of the show, narrated by Sadie Medley, usually lasts about an hour and follows a case from the moment someone goes missing to when they are found, using old footage and interviews with people involved. It’s a true-crime series made for Oxygen, an NBCUniversal channel, and you can watch it on Peacock.
