We’ve put together ten recommendations – including details about the plots, casts, and how they fit into everything Paramount+ offers – based on the newest releases and what’s already proving popular with viewers.

‘NCIS: Tony & Ziva’ (2025– )

The new series brings back Tony DiNozzo and Ziva David as they team up to investigate international crimes that echo events from their shared history. Each episode combines thrilling investigations with personal challenges for the couple, and features familiar faces – both friends and enemies – from throughout the ‘NCIS’ franchise. To help viewers follow their complete story, Paramount+ is also offering classic ‘NCIS’ episodes. The show aims to broaden the ‘NCIS’ world by introducing recurring characters connected to past storylines.

‘Watson’ (2025– )

Following the death of Sherlock Holmes, ‘Watson’ centers on Dr. John Watson as he uses his medical skills to investigate crimes and grapple with the lingering threat of Moriarty. Created by Craig Sweeny, the series stars Morris Chestnut, along with Eve Harlow, Peter Mark Kendall, Inga Schlingmann, Ritchie Coster, and Rochelle Aytes. CBS Studios and Kapital Entertainment produce the show, with Larry Teng directing several important episodes. The series offers a fresh take on the classic detective formula, focusing on medical reasoning and contemporary crime solving.

‘DMV’ (2025– )

‘DMV’ is a funny workplace comedy that takes place in a busy Department of Motor Vehicles office. The show follows a group of quirky employees as they deal with endless paperwork and demanding customers. Created by Dana Klein, based on a story by Katherine Heiny, the cast includes Tim Meadows, Harriet Dyer, Molly Kearney, Alex Tarrant, Tony Cavalero, and Gigi Zumbado. Dana Klein, Matt Kuhn, Trent O’Donnell, and Aaron Kaplan are executive producers, with Trent O’Donnell directing the first few episodes. Filmed in a single-camera style, the show focuses on the relationships between the DMV clerks as they try to balance rules with the personalities of the people they serve.

‘Sheriff Country’ (2025– )

This series, set in the world of ‘Fire Country’, features Morena Baccarin as Sheriff Mickey Fox. She keeps the peace in the small town of Edgewater while also dealing with her family life. Each episode follows investigations into local crimes and the politics of the county, and features characters connected to those we’ve seen in ‘Fire Country’. The show expands on storylines and relationships first introduced in ‘Fire Country’, focusing on Sheriff Fox and the challenges she faces both professionally and personally.

‘The Road’ (2025– )

This reality competition follows 12 up-and-coming musicians as they tour the country opening for a major artist. Each week, their performances and how the audience reacts decide who stays in the competition. Country star Keith Urban appears throughout the show, and Blake Shelton and Taylor Sheridan are producers. The series combines guidance from experienced artists with live voting and a look at what it’s like to tour. Each episode shows how the musicians improve their performance skills while dealing with the challenges of life on the road.

‘Red Alert’ (2025)

I just finished watching ‘Red Alert,’ a powerful new four-part Israeli series, and it’s incredibly moving. It doesn’t focus on the big picture of October 7th, but instead puts you right in the middle of it with the stories of ordinary people. Created and directed by Lior Chefetz, with Ruth Efroni as co-creator, and produced by Keshet Media Group along with Lawrence Bender, the series feels remarkably real. The acting is fantastic – Rotem Sela, Israel Atias, Miki Leon, Hisham Sulliman, and Chen Amsalem all deliver compelling performances. What really struck me was the attention to detail; everything from the locations to the clothes and the way people speak felt authentic, giving you a truly immersive and varied look at what happened.

‘Matlock’ (2024– )

The show follows Madeline “Matty” Matlock, an experienced lawyer who takes a job at a prestigious New York law firm. She quietly and carefully investigates cases to uncover wrongdoing. Created by Jennie Snyder Urman and starring Kathy Bates alongside Skye P. Marshall, Jason Ritter, David Del Rio, and Leah Lewis, the series features both standalone legal cases each week and ongoing storylines about office drama and competition. Jennie Snyder Urman, Joanna Klein, Eric Christian Olsen, and Kathy Bates are executive producers, and Kat Coiro directed the first episode.

‘Elsbeth’ (2024– )

Following the storylines of ‘The Good Wife’ and ‘The Good Fight’, ‘Elsbeth’ centers around a unique lawyer who helps the NYPD solve crimes by noticing what others miss. Starring Carrie Preston, Wendell Pierce, and Carra Patterson, the show is led by showrunner Jonathan Tolins and executive producers Robert and Michelle King. Each episode features a well-known suspect, and Elsbeth’s detailed notes are key to uncovering the truth. The series is produced by Nemorino Productions, King Size Productions, and CBS Studios.

‘Tracker’ (2024– )

Inspired by Jeffery Deaver’s ‘The Never Game’, ‘Tracker’ centers on Colter Shaw, a resourceful problem-solver who travels across the country helping people using his expert survival skills. Justin Hartley leads the cast, with appearances by Jensen Ackles and others. The series is executive produced by Ken Olin and Elwood Reid, and features music by Tyler Bates and Joanne Higginbottom. Each episode presents a new case, while also unfolding a larger, ongoing mystery about Colter’s family.

‘NCIS: Origins’ (2024– )

This new series goes back in time to show a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs’s beginnings at NCIS during the 1990s. Austin Stowell plays the younger Gibbs, and Mark Harmon returns as the narrator and a producer. Created by Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North for CBS Studios, the show explores the early cases and relationships that helped shape Gibbs into the leader he would become, while still maintaining the familiar style of the original series and adding to its overall history.
