Hulu has a great mix of new shows and movies dropping this weekend, including premieres, true crime documentaries, popular reality TV, and some compelling limited series. Whether you’re looking for something to watch for a little while or a full binge-watching session, we’ve got you covered. Here’s a quick guide to what’s new, who’s involved, and when it’s available, so you can easily add it to your weekend plans.

‘9-1-1: Lone Star’ (2020–2025)

After moving from New York, a firefighter is working to establish Firehouse 126 in Austin, Texas, facing both professional crises and personal struggles. The series stars Rob Lowe as Captain Owen Strand, along with Ronen Rubinstein, Sierra McClain, Jim Parrack, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Rafael Silva, and Julian Works. Created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, new episodes are coming out this Monday.

‘Texas True Crime’ (2021– )

This documentary series explores true crime cases from all over Texas, both famous and forgotten. Each episode focuses on a different case, using old footage, photos, and interviews with the investigators and families involved to piece together what happened. New episodes are released every Tuesday.

‘Swamp People: Serpent Invasion’ (2020– )

As a huge fan of wildlife documentaries, I’m really excited about this new show! It follows experienced hunters from Louisiana joining forces with Florida pros to tackle a big problem in the Everglades: invasive Burmese pythons. You’ll see familiar faces like Troy Landry, along with dedicated python hunters who are working with the state to both remove these snakes and help protect the ecosystem. Each episode dives into what’s at stake ecologically, how they plan their hunts, and the dangers they face in such a tough environment. It’s premiering this Thursday, and I’m already setting my DVR!

‘WWE Rivals’ (2022– )

This series dives into the most memorable rivalries in sports entertainment history. Each episode combines discussion with classic match footage and behind-the-scenes stories. WWE personalities and veterans break down how these feuds were created, both on screen and off, looking at the creative choices, what was at stake in major events, and how the performers themselves experienced it all. New episodes are released every Thursday.

‘Extreme Road Ragers’ (2024– )

This documentary series focuses on American drivers struggling with road rage, exploring how their past experiences and current stress lead to dangerous behavior behind the wheel. Each episode features personal stories alongside insights from loved ones and experts, examining what sets them off and the impact of their actions. The series also follows participants as they work with coaches and therapists to manage their anger and change their driving habits. It premieres this Thursday.

‘American Ripper’ (2017)

This new Hulu miniseries explores the chilling possibility that H.H. Holmes, America’s first serial killer, was also Jack the Ripper. Jeff Mudgett, Holmes’s great-great-grandson, partners with former CIA analyst Amaryllis Fox to investigate this theory. The series blends historical records, modern forensics, and on-site investigations in both 19th-century Chicago and London’s Whitechapel, using reenactments and interviews with experts to uncover the truth. It premieres on Hulu this Thursday.

‘Neighborhood Wars’ (2021– )

I’m completely hooked on this series! It’s amazing – they gather actual neighborhood conflicts from all over the U.S., using footage people capture on their phones, doorbell cams, and even drones. Imari Williams does a fantastic job narrating, and each episode focuses on common issues like disagreements over property lines, loud noises, and arguments with neighbors. What’s really interesting is how they show the whole thing unfold, from the initial problem to how things get resolved – or don’t! – with the help of police or the community. Plus, new episodes drop every Thursday, so I always have something to look forward to.

‘Homicide Squad New Orleans’ (2025– )

This docuseries provides a realistic look at how New Orleans homicide detectives solve crimes, from the initial investigation at a crime scene to making an arrest. The show focuses on the detailed, step-by-step process – including gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and working with experts like the coroner and district attorney. It also explores the emotional impact these cases have on the officers involved and their families, all while showcasing the unique culture and communities of New Orleans. The first episode airs on Thursday.

‘Virgins’ (2025– )

This documentary series follows four adults – Alex, Sonali, Deanne, and Rhasha – as they navigate the challenges of dating, intimacy, and family pressures while exploring their first sexual experiences. Each episode combines personal reflections, footage of their dates, and conversations with friends, showing their progress and struggles. Unlike a competition, the show focuses on the emotional and cultural aspects of their journeys, telling each person’s story over the course of the season. New episodes drop on Saturdays.

‘Solar Opposites’ (2020–2025)

Solar Opposites is a hilarious animated sci-fi comedy about a group of aliens – Korvo, Terry, Yumyulack, and Jesse – who end up stuck on Earth after crash-landing in a typical American suburb. They’re also taking care of ‘the Pupa,’ a powerful and strange living weapon. The show stars Thomas Middleditch, Sean Giambrone, Mary Mack, and Dan Stevens, and is created by Mike McMahan and Josh Bycel. Produced by 20th Television Animation, Solar Opposites mixes ongoing storylines, like the recent ‘Wall’ side-story, with self-contained, funny adventures. The latest season premiered with new episodes last Monday.

Let us know in the comments which of these you’re planning to watch first this weekend, and what other shows or movies you’d recommend!
