We’ve gathered the newest releases and popular titles from this week’s Comic Basics recommendations, along with original shows from Disney+ and some universally enjoyed classics. Below, you’ll find brief summaries of each show’s plot, creators, and why it’s worth adding to your weekend viewing – just the essential information to help you decide quickly.

‘All’s Fair’ (2025–)

This legal drama showcases a prestigious Los Angeles divorce law firm navigating challenging cases and internal conflicts. Each episode focuses on the legal strategies employed – from negotiations and evidence gathering to courtroom battles – as well as the changing relationships between the team members. Created by Ryan Murphy, alongside Jon Robin Baitz and Joe Baken, the show premieres with several episodes at once, then releases new episodes weekly.

The Worst Trip Around the World’ (2025–)

As a total movie and TV buff, I’m really into this new series about a travel group where everything goes wrong. Seriously, their carefully planned trip falls apart thanks to missed connections, unexpected cultural differences, and constant changes of plan. What I find fascinating is watching them scramble to fix things – constantly rebooking flights, finding new routes, and just generally improvising in places they don’t know. It’s all about how they work together, communicate, and bounce back when their whole schedule crumbles. And get this – it’s already one of the most popular shows on Disney+ right now!

‘9-1-1: Nashville’ (2025–)

This series takes you inside a city’s 911 system, showing how firefighters, police officers, and emergency dispatchers work together to handle crises. Each episode details the complex planning and communication involved in rescues, and highlights the quick thinking required in life-or-death situations. The show stresses how important teamwork is between different agencies, and the specialized skills needed for these operations. It’s currently one of the most popular shows on Disney+.

‘High Potential’ (2024–)

This drama follows a brilliant single mother who helps the police solve crimes using her unique ability to notice details and think outside the box. Each episode shows how she connects the dots – observing patterns, understanding people’s behavior, and approaching problems in unexpected ways – alongside the usual police work. The show also explores how the team works together as they investigate each case. It’s been a consistently popular show for the network this season.

‘The Beatles Anthology’ (1995–1996)

As a huge Beatles fan, I was so excited to revisit this incredible documentary series! It really takes you through their whole journey, using tons of amazing old footage and hearing directly from Paul, Ringo, John, and George themselves. The 2025 version is even better – they’ve added a whole new episode with contributions from Oliver Murray, and Peter Jackson’s team did a fantastic job remastering it. It feels like a perfect companion to the ‘Anthology’ project Giles Martin put together. And the best part? It’s coming to Disney+ to celebrate the 30th anniversary – I can’t wait to watch it again!

‘Holiday Baking Championship’ (2014–)

Food Network’s holiday baking competition challenges bakers in two rounds: Pre-Heat and Main Heat. Jesse Palmer hosts, and Duff Goldman and Nancy Fuller are regular judges, joined by guests. The winner of each season receives a cash prize, and new seasons are now available on Disney+ as part of their holiday programming.

‘Little Angel’ (2022–)

As a big fan of animated shows, I’ve been checking out ‘Baby John’ from Moonbug Entertainment, and it’s really cute! It’s a preschool series that centers around Baby John and his family, and each episode tells a little story with lots of music – they mix original songs with classic nursery rhymes. It’s great because it subtly teaches kids about daily routines and important social skills, all broken down into short, themed segments. The voice acting is really well done too, with talents like Gracia Damsgard and Jenny W. Chan bringing the characters to life. I’m excited to see it’s becoming available on Disney+ in even more places – Moonbug is really expanding the reach of this fun little show!

‘Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up’ (2024–)

This docuseries chronicles Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s life after being released from prison. It explores the challenges she faces with media attention, the rules of her parole, and her relationships with family. Each episode centers around important steps in her new life, like finding a place to live, fulfilling legal requirements, and building a support network. Produced by Lifetime and A+E, with Brie Miranda Bryant as an executive producer, the series also features interviews with her family. Over eight episodes, the show focuses on Gypsy Rose’s journey toward independence and self-determination.

‘Christmas Cookie Challenge’ (2017–)

Five talented bakers compete in each episode, facing two baking challenges centered around a specific theme. They’re judged on how creative, technically skilled, and visually appealing their creations are, with a $10,000 prize going to the winner. The challenges often involve elaborate decorations and detailed icing work, and sometimes include unexpected twists to test the bakers’ abilities. Eddie Jackson hosts the show, and Ree Drummond is a regular judge, joined by different guest judges each week. The series comes back every holiday season and is now available on Disney+.

‘Bluey’ (2018–)

This popular animated series centers around a Blue Heeler puppy and her family, showing how they turn ordinary moments into fun, imaginative adventures. Each episode focuses on important skills like problem-solving, talking things out, and understanding feelings, all through the power of play. The show really emphasizes working together and being creative, and it remains one of the most popular programs on Disney+.
