‘Electric Bloom’ (2025–present)
As a total movie buff, I’m already hooked on this new music-themed comedy! It’s a series that goes back to the beginning, showing us how Posey Parker, Jade, and Tulip Aoki-this amazing pop trio-first met in high school. It’s really cool to see how their friendship slowly turned into a performing group. The cast is fantastic too – you’ve got Lumi Pollack, Carmen Sanchez, Ruby Marino, and Nathaniel Buescher all bringing the energy. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!
The series was brought to life by Eric Friedman, Alex Fox, and Rachel Lewis, with Eric Friedman leading the creative direction as showrunner. Original music for the show was overseen by Diane Warren, who served as an executive producer. Jody Margolin Hahn directed the first episode and also took on the role of executive producer. More details can be found on the show’s official website.
‘Top Guns: The Next Generation’ (2025)
This National Geographic docuseries provides an inside look at Navy and Marine Corps pilots as they undergo rigorous advanced training in strike-fighter aircraft. It captures everything from landing on aircraft carriers and practicing aerial combat to the evaluations that decide who moves forward in the program. The series highlights both the challenging flight operations and the personal journeys of these student aviators as they strive to earn their wings.
The series was created by Rex, a label of Zinc Media Group, and directed by Lana Salah. Karen Edwards and Chris Parkin served as showrunners. Tanya Shaw and Simon Raikes were the executive producers.
‘LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past’ (2025)
This animated special, told in four parts, continues the story built with LEGO bricks. It follows Sig Greebling and Darth Dev as they begin a new adventure, bringing together characters and stories from the entire ‘Star Wars’ universe-but within the world of LEGO. The voice cast features returning favorites and new guests, including Gaten Matarazzo, Tony Revolori, Bobby Moynihan, Marsai Martin, Michael Cusack, Ahmed Best, Mark Hamill, Dan Stevens, Ashley Eckstein, and Ben Schwartz.
Creative leads Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit are at the helm, leveraging their experience with LEGO ‘Star Wars’ projects. This production is a collaboration between Lucasfilm and the LEGO Group, designed as a family-friendly adventure presented in a short series.
‘Lost Treasures of Egypt’ (2019– )
This National Geographic series follows archaeologists as they work at various locations throughout Egypt-including the Valley of the Kings and the Nile Delta-while they dig up tombs, temples, and ancient settlements. The show captures discoveries as they happen, combining on-site work with expert analysis. It provides a real-time look at the process of uncovering Egypt’s past. Researchers are working hard to understand the lives of those who came before us.
I’ve been really enjoying this series, which is made by Windfall Films. I’ve learned so much from the amazing Egyptologists who’ve been featured, like Salima Ikram and Colleen Darnell. Indira Varma’s narration is just perfect! It’s great to know that experienced producers like Neil Laird, Carlo Massarella, Jane McGoldrick, and Dan Kendall have been overseeing things across all the seasons – it really shows in the quality of the show. You can find more information about the show here.
‘Dancing with the Stars’ (2005–present)
The competition show teams up celebrities with professional dancers, and each week they perform routines judged by a panel. The scores from the judges are combined with votes from the audience to decide which teams stay in the competition. The celebrities and their partners practice various dance styles, from elegant ballroom to energetic Latin dances.
Recent seasons of the show, produced by BBC Studios Los Angeles, have included judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli. Hosting the show has been Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, while Conrad Green has served as executive producer and showrunner, managing the entire production process.
‘Random Rings’ (2019–present)
This animated series is made up of short, funny scenes. It features Disney characters-frequently from ‘Big City Greens’-having scripted phone conversations. The voice cast includes Chris Houghton as Cricket Green, Marieve Herington as Tilly Green, and Artemis Pebdani as Gramma Alice.
I recently checked out these shorts, and they come from the team at Disney Television Animation. It’s interesting to note that Jenna Hicks produced them, and Daniel Siegel served as the story editor throughout the different sets of episodes. What’s really neat is that these episodes are designed to be viewed in any order – you don’t need to watch them sequentially, which is a fun approach!
‘The Simpsons’ (1989– )
This animated sitcom, which has been on the air for many years and was created by Matt Groening, centers around the Simpson family-Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie-living in the town of Springfield. The show combines stories about family life with witty commentary on society and culture. The main actors who provide the voices for these beloved characters include Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright, Yeardley Smith, Hank Azaria, and Harry Shearer.
Created alongside James L. Brooks and Sam Simon, the show has been led by various showrunners, such as Al Jean and Matt Selman. The music is composed by Danny Elfman, and the series features a wide range of both regular and guest voice actors throughout its run.
