Need some ideas for what to watch on Paramount+ this weekend? We’ve put together a list with both new releases and beloved classics. We prioritized the latest additions, then highlighted shows and movies made by Paramount+, and finally included some influential films that defined their genres. Get ready to relax and enjoy!
‘Vicious’ (2025)

Let me tell you about ‘Vicious,’ the new thriller I just watched. Written and directed by Bryan Bertino, it’s a really unsettling ride starring Dakota Fanning as Polly. The story kicks off when a strange box shows up at her door, and things quickly spiral out of control with some seriously creepy rules attached. Kathryn Hunter and Mary McCormack also deliver strong performances. I caught it at Fantastic Fest, and now it’s streaming on Paramount+ – and it actually hit number one on their movie chart recently! If you’re looking for something new and genuinely thrilling to watch on the platform, this is absolutely where you should start.
‘The Naked Gun’ (2025)

As a big fan of the original Naked Gun movies, I was excited to see this new one directed by Akiva Schaffer. Liam Neeson takes over as Frank Drebin Jr., and it’s fun to see him in the role alongside Pamela Anderson and Paul Walter Hauser. After playing in theaters, it landed on Paramount+, and honestly, if you’re looking for a lighthearted, silly comedy to stream, this one definitely delivers on the slapstick humor of the classics. It’s a perfect pick-me-up if you’re in the mood for something easy and funny.
‘Scream VI’ (2023)

This movie, set in New York City, continues the story from the last film with a new Ghostface killer. Starring Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, and featuring a score by Brian Tyler, it had the biggest opening weekend and earned the most money domestically of any film in the series, proving the franchise is back and better than ever. If you haven’t seen the recent movies yet, this is the best place to start.
‘Scream’ (2022)

The latest installment in this long-running series brings back familiar faces alongside newcomers Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. The story goes back to Woodsboro, where a new group of friends finds themselves targeted by Ghostface. The film’s success at the box office has breathed new life into the franchise and paved the way for future movies, acting as a link between the original films and the current series on Paramount+.
‘Queen Bees’ (2021)

I’m excited to check out ‘Queen Bees,’ which is coming to Paramount+ this Friday! It’s about a woman who moves into a retirement community and gets mixed up with the popular girls there – sounds like there’s some fun conflict and friendship in store. The movie has an amazing cast – Ellen Burstyn is leading it, and she’s joined by legends like James Caan, Ann-Margret, Jane Curtin, and Christopher Lloyd! I’ve heard the cinematography is beautiful, thanks to Alice Brooks, and Sabine Hoffman did the editing. If you’re looking for something lighthearted and full of stars, this one seems perfect.
‘Scream 4’ (2011)

The latest installment in the Scream series brings back original stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette, alongside new faces Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere. The story returns to Woodsboro, where a new, tech-minded Ghostface is terrorizing a fresh group of victims. The film maintains the series’ self-aware style and keeps the suspense and social commentary moving at a brisk pace. It effectively bridges the gap between the original films and the more recent sequels available on Paramount+.
‘Grown Ups’ (2010)

This funny movie, directed by Dennis Dugan and written by Adam Sandler and Fred Wolf, stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider. The story follows a group of former teammates who come back together after the passing of their coach for a chaotic holiday weekend. Salma Hayek, Maria Bello, and Maya Rudolph also appear in the film. It’s still a popular choice for easy, lighthearted entertainment.
‘Youth in Revolt’ (2009)

This Sunday, Paramount+ is adding ‘Youth in Revolt,’ a funny and charming movie based on the popular novel by C.D. Payne. It follows Nick Twisp, a clumsy teenager who creates a rebellious alter ego named François Dillinger to try and impress the girl of his dreams, Sheeni. Starring Michael Cera, along with a fantastic cast including Portia Doubleday, Jean Smart, Justin Long, and many others, the film is a quirky coming-of-age story full of hilarious mishaps. If you enjoy offbeat comedies, it’s a great pick for the weekend!
‘Scream 3’ (2000)

This chapter shifts the story to Hollywood, focusing on the making of the fictional movie ‘Stab 3′ within the series. Wes Craven directed, with a script by Ehren Kruger, and the film stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Parker Posey, and Patrick Dempsey. Marco Beltrami once again composed the music, keeping the sound consistent with previous films. It’s a must-watch for fans who are following the series’ timeline on Paramount+.
‘Scream’ (1996)

Wes Craven’s Scream breathed new life into horror films with its clever approach and the iconic Ghostface killer. The movie stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, and Drew Barrymore. The script, written by Kevin Williamson, skillfully mixed thrills with a knowing look at horror movie clichés, setting the stage for future installments. If you’re new to the series, this is the perfect place to start – it’s currently streaming on Paramount+.
