There’s plenty to watch for a cozy weekend of movies, and here’s a look at what’s new this week.

‘Batman Returns’ (1992)

Tim Burton’s sequel takes us back to Gotham City, where Batman faces off against two new enemies. The Penguin rises from the city’s underbelly with a plan to target the wealthy, and Catwoman pursues a vengeful path of her own. Michael Keaton returns as the hero tasked with saving the city during a turbulent holiday season. This beloved dark superhero film will be available to stream beginning December 1, 2025.

‘Something’s Gotta Give’ (2003)

This charming romantic comedy stars Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton as an older man who unexpectedly falls for his girlfriend’s mother. The story follows their blossoming connection, largely set in a cozy beach house, as they navigate love and vulnerability later in life. Get ready for witty and heartwarming moments when it premieres on December 1, 2025.

‘We Are Marshall’ (2006)

This moving film tells the real story of the 1970 plane crash that devastated the Marshall University football team. Matthew McConaughey plays the coach who comes to town with the difficult task of rebuilding the team and helping the community cope with its loss. It’s a powerful story about strength and healing, showing how the players and townspeople came together to remember those who were lost. You can see this inspiring film beginning December 1, 2025.

‘Boomerang’ (1992)

This funny and heartwarming romantic comedy stars Eddie Murphy as a charming but womanizing advertising executive who gets a taste of his own medicine when he falls for his new, powerful boss. The movie playfully explores relationships, workplace power dynamics, and forces the main character to re-evaluate how he treats women. This beloved 90s film will be available to stream starting December 1, 2025.

‘The Truman Show’ (1998)

I just heard about this new movie starring Jim Carrey, and it sounds incredible! He plays a regular guy, an insurance salesman, who finds out his whole life is a TV show. Like, everyone he knows is an actor and his entire world is a giant set built by this amazing director. It really makes you think about how much of our lives are watched and what’s even real anymore, as he tries to break free from it all. I can’t wait to watch it when it comes out on December 1, 2025 – I’ve heard it’s getting amazing reviews!

‘The Addams Family’ (1991)

As a huge fan of delightfully dark comedies, I’m thrilled to hear The Addams Family is coming to the service! It’s such a fun movie about this wonderfully weird family – the Addamses – who are targeted by a scheming con artist pretending to be their Uncle Fester, hoping to steal their money. Anjelica Huston and Raul Julia are absolutely brilliant as Morticia and Gomez, really bringing that passionate, morbid energy to life. What I love most is how the movie embraces the family’s strangeness with a perfect mix of dark wit and silly slapstick, even when everyone else thinks they’re odd. Get ready to enjoy this spooky classic starting December 1, 2025!

‘Fences’ (2016)

Denzel Washington directs and stars in this movie, based on the August Wilson play, about a garbage collector in 1950s Pittsburgh. The story centers on a man who once dreamed of being a baseball player, now struggling with regrets and a difficult relationship with his son. Viola Davis gives an incredible performance as his wife, who desperately tries to keep the family from falling apart as tensions rise. This moving film about race and family will be released on December 1, 2025.

‘Failure to Launch’ (2006)

When a man in his thirties is still living at home, his parents hire an expert to convince him to move out. Starring Matthew McConaughey and Sarah Jessica Parker, this funny and heartwarming romantic comedy follows the clash – and eventual connection – between the man and the interventionist. As she tries to do her job, she unexpectedly starts to fall for him, complicating everything. You can start streaming it on December 1, 2025.

‘Coneheads’ (1993)

This funny sci-fi comedy follows a family of aliens from the planet Remulak as they try to live a normal life in the suburbs, all while concealing their unusual cone-shaped heads. Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtin, known from Saturday Night Live, star in this story about fitting in. They face challenges with curious neighbors and immigration officials, and also have to navigate the ups and downs of raising a teenage daughter on Earth. If you enjoy comedies based on sketch shows, you can start watching it on December 1, 2025.

‘Downsizing’ (2017)

In a future where overpopulation is a major problem, scientists have found a radical solution: shrinking people to just five inches tall. The movie follows one man who chooses to be shrunk, hoping for a life of luxury in a tiny community, but quickly discovers the reality isn’t what he expected. Through this science fiction story, the film cleverly critiques our current society and obsession with buying things. It will be available to watch on December 1, 2025.
