Okay, as a total movie and TV addict, let me tell you, Netflix is dropping a ton of good stuff this week! They’ve got everything from that huge sequel everyone’s been waiting for to some really funny international comedies and seriously good dramas. Honestly, whether you’re looking for something to watch with the family during the holidays or a dark, twisty thriller to keep you on the edge of your seat, there’s something for everyone. This weekend is made for binge-watching the latest releases on Netflix.
‘Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery’ (2025)

I just got a sneak peek at the newest Benoit Blanc mystery, and let me tell you, it does not disappoint! Rian Johnson is back directing, and he’s assembled another incredible cast for this film, which is as sharp and funny as the previous ones. Daniel Craig is, of course, brilliant as Blanc, and this time he’s dropped into a really intriguing and dangerous situation. Get ready to start guessing because the movie hits screens on December 12th, and it’s packed with the same clever twists and suspense we’ve come to expect from this series.
‘Elmo and Mark Rober’s Merry Giftmas’ (2025)

This holiday special brings together the lovable monster Elmo and science expert Mark Rober for a cheerful adventure! They team up to build the perfect gift for everyone on Sesame Street. The show cleverly mixes fun science lessons with the cozy spirit of the holidays, making it a great choice for family entertainment. It started streaming on December 8th and is sure to delight both kids and grown-ups.
‘Masaka Kids, A Rhythm Within’ (2025)

This uplifting film showcases the incredible Masaka Kids Africana, a dance group from Uganda. It tells the story of their inspiring journey and how music helps them overcome challenges. Viewers will experience the energy and happiness that made their performances so popular online. The film was released on December 9th and is a celebration of strength and creativity.
‘The Fakenapping’ (2025)

This funny Saudi Arabian movie centers around a group of friends who try to fake a kidnapping to get out of debt. But their plan quickly becomes a hilarious mess of confusion and mishaps. It’s a fresh take on crime comedies and became available on the platform on December 11th.
‘Lost in the Spotlight’ (2025)

Okay, so I just heard about this new Indonesian film coming out December 11th, directed by Ernest Prakasa, and it sounds really interesting! It’s a comedy-drama about a famous actor – Vino G. Bastian plays him – who suddenly can’t act anymore, right when he gets the biggest role of his life: playing the President! The movie seems to be about him figuring out who he is without all the fame and awards, which I think is a really cool concept. It’s supposed to explore the crazy pressure that comes with being constantly in the public eye. I’m definitely adding it to my watchlist!
‘The Fanatic’ (2020)

I’m really excited about this new movie! John Travolta gives an incredible performance as a fan who takes his admiration for an action star way too far. It’s a seriously gripping psychological thriller that shows how dangerous obsession can be, and how easily things can spiral out of control. It really makes you think about the line between being a fan and being fixated on someone. You can stream it starting December 12th – I’ve already marked my calendar!
‘House of Gucci’ (2021)

Directed by Ridley Scott, this film tells the true story of the Gucci family and the drama surrounding their iconic fashion house. Lady Gaga plays Patrizia Reggiani, who marries into the family and ultimately contributes to its downfall through a tale of betrayal and excess, culminating in a shocking murder. Featuring stunning costumes and a talented cast, the movie becomes available to viewers on December 12.
‘The Hustle’ (2019)

As a total movie buff, I’m really excited about this new comedy! It stars Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson as two con artists who are complete opposites. The story follows them as they try to out-scam each other while targeting a tech billionaire in the beautiful South of France. From what I’ve heard, it’s hilarious watching their very different approaches clash. It’s a remake of a well-loved classic, and it hits theaters December 12th – perfect if you’re looking for something fun and lighthearted to escape with.
‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’ (1999)

Matt Damon gives a captivating and unsettling performance as a man consumed by his obsession with a rich woman. He expertly uses trickery and disguise to enter the glamorous world of 1950s Italy. As his lies grow, so does the danger, leading to violence and a frantic attempt to keep up the charade. This highly praised thriller will be available to stream on December 13th, and it’s a brilliant example of how to build suspense and create compelling characters.
‘PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie’ (2023)

When a magical meteor lands in Adventure City, a group of adorable puppies suddenly gain superpowers! They’ll need to work together to use these new abilities and stop a supervillain and a crazy scientist from stealing powerful crystals. This animated movie is full of exciting action and teaches kids the importance of teamwork. Families can enjoy this fun adventure together starting December 14th, and it continues the story from the popular TV show.
