‘Elio’ (2025)
I’m so excited about Pixar’s new movie, ‘Elio’! It’s about this really imaginative kid who somehow gets zapped into a huge meeting of alien leaders. And get this – they think he’s Earth’s official representative! It’s going to be a crazy first-contact story, but with a fun twist – it’s not who you’d expect to be speaking for us. The movie stars Yonas Kibreab as Elio, and Zoe Saldaña voices his mom. Brad Garrett and Jameela Jamil are also lending their voices to the film, which is awesome!
Directed by Adrian Molina and created at Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures, the film’s music was composed by Rob Simonsen. Mary Alice Drumm oversaw production as Pixar’s story team crafted the story and developed the unique cultures and rules of the alien societies featured in the film.
‘Lilo & Stitch’ (2025)
The live-action ‘Lilo & Stitch’ reimagines the classic story of a young Hawaiian girl who takes in an alien on the run-known as Experiment 626-and discovers the true meaning of family while trying to hide him from those chasing him across Kauaʻi. Maia Kealoha stars as Lilo, and Sydney Agudong plays Nani. Notably, Chris Sanders returns to voice Stitch, and the cast also features Zach Galifianakis and Billy Magnussen.
Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp and produced by Walt Disney Pictures, the movie’s story follows the familiar plot of the original animated film but with updated character backgrounds and a new setting. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich served as producers. To make it look realistic, the film used real footage shot on location on an island, combined with visual effects (VFX) to perfectly blend Stitch into live-action scenes.
‘Thunderbolts*’ (2025)
Taking place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ‘Thunderbolts*’ brings together a team created by the government. This team is made up of characters viewers already know from the MCU, and they’re tasked with a secret mission. It forces unlikely heroes to work together. The movie stars Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr, Olga Kurylenko as Antonia Dreykov, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Lewis Pullman, and Geraldine Viswanathan.
Jake Schreier directed the film, based on a screenplay by Eric Pearson and Joanna Calo, which originated from a story by Pearson. Produced by Marvel Studios, the film connects storylines from previous Marvel Cinematic Universe installments, while also presenting a fresh team and a new approach to missions.
‘Incredibles 2’ (2018)
‘Incredibles 2’ focuses on Helen Parr taking the lead to rebuild public faith in superheroes. Meanwhile, Bob Parr handles things at home, taking care of the children and dealing with Jack-Jack’s surprising powers. The film features the voices of Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner, and Samuel L. Jackson, and also includes performances by Bob Odenkirk and Catherine Keener.
Directed and written by Brad Bird and created by Pixar for Walt Disney Pictures, the movie keeps the series’ distinctive 1950s and 60s visual style, now with more detailed character movements and bigger environments. The music, composed by Michael Giacchino, continues the tradition of jazz-inspired sounds established in previous films.
‘The Incredibles’ (2004)
‘The Incredibles’ tells the story of Bob and Helen Parr-formerly known as Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl-who are pulled back into action from their peaceful suburban lives when a secret mission puts their family in danger. The movie features voice performances by Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Spencer Fox, Jason Lee as Syndrome, and Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone.
Directed and written by Brad Bird, the film was created by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. It pushed the boundaries of character animation, particularly in areas like hair, clothing, and dynamic action sequences. These visuals were perfectly complemented by Michael Giacchino’s music and a distinctive design style drawing inspiration from retro-futurism.
‘Ratatouille’ (2007)
‘Ratatouille’ takes place in Paris and tells the story of Remy, a rat who has an amazing ability to taste and smell. He teams up with Linguini, a kitchen worker who isn’t very experienced, to secretly cook delicious food in a famous restaurant. The voice cast is headed by Patton Oswalt as Remy, and also includes Lou Romano, Ian Holm, Janeane Garofalo, Peter O’Toole, and Brad Garrett.
The Pixar movie, directed by Brad Bird, was based on a story created with Jan Pinkava and Jim Capobianco. It really emphasized the details of the food shown on screen, used camera angles to match the action in the kitchen, and told its story through the characters. Walt Disney Pictures released the film.
‘The Parent Trap’ (1998)
‘The Parent Trap’ tells the story of identical twins who unexpectedly meet at summer camp. They soon realize they were separated at birth and hatch a plan to get their divorced parents back together. Lindsay Lohan plays both twins in this film, while Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson star as the parents. Lisa Ann Walter and Elaine Hendrix also appear in supporting roles.
Directed by Nancy Meyers in her first feature film, the story was written by David Swift, Nancy Meyers, and Charles Shyer. They based it on a novel by Erich Kästner and an earlier Disney movie. To show the twins interacting, the filmmakers used techniques like split-screen, doubles, and special camera movements.
‘Elemental’ (2023)
‘Elemental’ is set in Element City, and tells the story of Ember, who embodies fire, and Wade, who represents water. They develop a surprising bond that questions what their families believe and the norms of their community. The film features the voices of Leah Lewis as Ember and Mamoudou Athie as Wade, alongside Ronnie del Carmen and a talented supporting cast.
Directed by Peter Sohn and created by Pixar for Walt Disney Pictures, the film’s story was written by John Hoberg, Kat Likkel, and Brenda Hsueh. Making the movie involved developing unique computer tools to realistically show fire and water as characters. The music and overall look of the film focused on themes of culture and community.
‘The Princess and the Frog’ (2009)
Taking place in New Orleans, ‘The Princess and the Frog’ tells the story of Tiana, a determined waitress who longs to own her own restaurant. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she embarks on an adventure in the bayou after a prince visiting the city is magically transformed into a frog. Anika Noni Rose provides the voice for Tiana, while Bruno Campos voices Prince Naveen and Keith David plays Dr. Facilier. The film also features supporting vocal performances by Oprah Winfrey, Jim Cummings, and Jennifer Cody.
The film, directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, was created by Walt Disney Animation Studios. The story was written by Clements, Musker, and Rob Edwards. The music, composed by Randy Newman, combines jazz, blues, and gospel styles, and the film’s overall look and feel are deeply inspired by the music and traditions of the city.
‘Ice Age’ (2002)
‘Ice Age’ takes place during a time of extreme cold in the prehistoric past. The story follows Manny, a mammoth, Sid, a sloth, and Diego, a saber-toothed tiger, as they journey to reunite a human baby with its family. Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, and Denis Leary provide the main voices for the characters, and the film also features other characters who add to the group interactions and provide humorous side stories.
The film was directed by Chris Wedge and Carlos Saldanha, and produced by Blue Sky Studios. It was first released by 20th Century Fox and is now available through Disney’s streaming services. The story was written by Michael J. Wilson, Michael Berg, and Peter Ackerman, and it kicked off a successful computer-generated franchise that included several follow-up movies and short films. This marked the beginning of a popular series.
