Apple TV+ features a wide range of original movies, covering everything from intense dramas to funny action comedies. The service has quickly become known for working with famous directors and award-winning actors to create content you won’t find anywhere else. This is a look at some of the most notable films currently available or recently released on the platform, showcasing Apple TV+’s commitment to quality filmmaking and big-name stars.
‘F1’ (2025)
In the film, Brad Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, an experienced race car driver who returns to racing to guide a promising young driver. Director Joseph Kosinski filmed during real Formula 1 races to capture the sport’s true atmosphere. The movie also stars Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, and Kerry Condon, and will be available to stream globally on Apple Original Films after its release in theaters.
‘The Family Plan 2’ (2025)
The Morgan family is back for another action-packed holiday adventure, this time traveling through Europe. Mark Wahlberg reprises his role as Dan Morgan, a skilled former operative who finds himself needing to protect his family once again. The movie explores the difficulties of balancing family life with the lingering effects of a dangerous past. Directed by Simon Cellan Jones, it’s a continuation of the story that began in the 2023 film.
‘The Lost Bus’ (2025)
Paul Greengrass directs this film, which tells the true story of the 2018 Camp Fire that devastated Paradise, California. Matthew McConaughey plays a bus driver who bravely drives students to safety amidst the chaos, and America Ferrera stars as a teacher, Mary Ludwig, who helps with the evacuation. The movie is based on a book detailing the terrifying experiences of those who lived through the wildfire.
‘The Gorge’ (2025)
The new action thriller stars Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy as snipers positioned on opposite sides of a huge, enigmatic canyon. They must work to stop a hidden danger from crossing, all while battling the challenges of their remote and lonely surroundings. Scott Derrickson directs this suspenseful and intense survival story, a production from Skydance Media and Apple Original Films.
‘Highest 2 Lowest’ (2025)
Denzel Washington leads this new take on the classic 1963 thriller by Akira Kurosawa, directed by Spike Lee. The story centers on a successful businessman whose life unravels after a kidnapping plan goes awry, forcing him to confront a difficult moral choice. This film is the fifth collaboration between Washington and Lee. It delves into issues of social class, the lengths people will go to when desperate, and the impact of wealth in today’s world.
‘Wolfs’ (2024)
I’m really excited about this new movie! It stars George Clooney and Brad Pitt as these guys who clean up messy situations – basically, fixers. The funny thing is, they both get assigned the same job, and they have to work together, even though they usually prefer to fly solo. It’s going to be a wild night for them, trying to keep everything under control and protect their careers, and even themselves! Jon Watts, the director, is bringing his signature style to it, and it’s great to see Clooney and Pitt back on screen together. From what I’ve heard, it’s a mix of a classic crime story with some really clever humor and a ton of action.
‘The Instigators’ (2024)
In this Boston-based comedy, Matt Damon and Casey Affleck star as two criminals who team up to rob a dishonest politician. When the robbery doesn’t go as planned, they’re forced to flee, pursued by both the police and dangerous criminals. They unexpectedly get help from a therapist, played by Hong Chau, who gets caught up in their getaway. The film is directed by Doug Liman.
‘Fly Me to the Moon’ (2024)

As a total film buff, I recently saw this movie set during the thrilling 1960s space race. It stars Scarlett Johansson as a clever marketing person brought in to boost NASA’s image, and Channing Tatum as one of the guys in charge of actually launching the rockets. What’s really fascinating is the story – it turns out the government had a secret plan to fake the moon landing, just in case the real thing didn’t work out! It’s a fictional take, of course, but it’s a really clever look at how PR and a massive historical event like the Apollo 11 mission could intersect.
‘The Family Plan’ (2023)
Mark Wahlberg plays Dan Morgan, a retired government hitman trying to live a normal life with his family in the suburbs. When people from his past track him down, he’s forced to take his wife and kids on a sudden trip to Las Vegas to keep them safe. The movie centers around his efforts to eliminate dangers while hiding his secret identity from his loved ones. It quickly became one of the most popular original films on the streaming platform when it was released.
‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ (2023)
Martin Scorsese’s film tells the true story of a murder investigation within the Osage Nation in 1920s Oklahoma. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, and Lily Gladstone (who received widespread praise for her acting), the movie is based on a book by David Grann. It highlights the discovery of oil on Osage land and the resulting exploitation and injustice faced by the community, driven by greed and corruption.
