‘Dr. Seuss’s Horton!’ (2025)
The new animated series premieres on Monday, October 6th. It’s set in the Jungle of Nool and features Horton and his friends always ready to help others, upholding a promise of “elephant’s honor… bird’s word!” The voice cast includes Ethan Monaghan, Max Mittelman, and Kitana Turnbull. The show is based on the beloved characters and world created by Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel).
As a critic, I found this show really nails the art of creating episodes for younger audiences. Each one feels like a sweet, self-contained adventure with problems kids can easily understand. What’s great is that it beautifully expands on the world of Dr. Seuss, bringing in fresh stories and characters, but always staying true to those core Seuss values – being kind, curious, and brave enough to do what’s right. It’s a delightful expansion of the source material.
‘Nurse Jackie’ (2009–2015)
The popular and darkly humorous medical drama premieres on Tuesday, October 7th. It follows Jackie Peyton, a highly skilled emergency room nurse in New York City who is secretly struggling with an addiction to painkillers. Created by Liz Brixius, Evan Dunsky, and Linda Wallem, the show stars Edie Falco, along with Eve Best, Merritt Wever, Paul Schulze, Peter Facinelli, Dominic Fumusa, and Anna Deavere Smith.
The show spans seven seasons, detailing Jackie’s life both at work and personally as she navigates the challenges of being a doctor at All Saints’ Hospital. It realistically portrays intense medical situations alongside her complex relationships and struggles with addiction. Initially led by Liz Brixius and Linda Wallem, and later by Clyde Phillips, the series benefited from a consistent team of writers and directors who crafted its unique mix of witty humor and emotionally honest storytelling.
‘Néro the Assassin’ (2025– )
A new French historical action series begins on October 8th. The story is set in France in 1504 and centers around a dangerous assassin who must protect his daughter from powerful and sinister enemies. The series stars Pio Marmaï, along with Alice Isaaz and Olivier Gourmet.
This series, created by Jean-Patrick Benes, Martin Douaire, and Allan Mauduit, combines a compelling father-daughter relationship with the excitement of historical intrigue, sword fights, and political plots. The first season tells a complete story while also hinting at a larger world of secret societies and competing groups throughout Renaissance Europe.
‘Is It Cake? Halloween’ (2025– )
As a big fan of baking competitions, I’m really excited for the new Halloween special! It kicks off on October 8th and Mikey Day is hosting. They’re bringing in nine incredibly talented cake artists, and the challenge? To create cakes that look *so* real, they’ll trick both the judges and us at home. It’s basically the same fun competition we love, but with a spooky, trick-or-treat theme!
This four-part series challenges bakers with timed competitions centered around spooky illusions. Each episode features different guest judges who evaluate both the taste and how convincingly the bakers create their illusions. The show maintains the fun format of the original series, but with a Halloween twist – expect elaborate sets, deceptive props, and classic horror themes brought to life with icing and fondant.
‘The Resurrected’ (2025)
The Taiwanese thriller series premieres on October 9th. It centers around two mothers who, after their daughters are kidnapped, bring back a deceased criminal boss hoping to get them back. However, their plan to get revenge reveals shocking secrets. The show features Shu Qi, Lee Sinje, and Fu Meng-po.
Created by directors Chao-jen Hsu and Leste Chen, and written by Shen Yang, Yi Shuai-jie, and Luo Hsiao-rui, this series mixes supernatural themes with a crime investigation format, all set against the backdrop of modern scams. With a strong festival history and a short season, it promises a gripping and thought-provoking story exploring loss, fairness, and the unexpected results of our actions.
‘Boots’ (2025)
A new drama series premieres on Thursday, October 9th. It follows a teenager who, after being bullied for years, spontaneously joins the U.S. Marine Corps. He unexpectedly discovers a sense of purpose and community among his fellow recruits. The series stars Miles Heizer, Max Parker, and Vera Farmiga.
Created by Andy Parker, this show follows the intense physical and emotional challenges of boot camp. It explores how people interact within their squads, cope with the pressure of training, and build relationships while under stress. Each episode focuses on the personal journeys of the recruits, highlighting their growth, the guidance they receive, and the difficult truths of military life.
‘Victoria Beckham’ (2025)
A new documentary series about Victoria Beckham premieres on October 9th. It gives viewers an inside look at her London workshop, showing her life, creative journey, and preparations for Paris Fashion Week. The series follows everything from design meetings and fittings to the planning of her fashion show, and also offers glimpses into her personal and professional life.
This series offers a close-up look at the world of fashion, showing everything that goes into putting on a runway show – from the initial designs and materials to the models, movement, and the hectic energy behind the scenes. Through interviews and real-life footage, it follows Victoria Beckham’s journey from a pop star to a successful designer and businesswoman.
‘Kurukshetra’ (2025)
The new animated series launches on October 10th. It retells the famous 18-day battle of Kurukshetra from the Mahabharata, focusing on the conflict between the Pandavas and Kauravas. The series presents important moments from the story through different viewpoints, making it accessible for today’s viewers.
This project features a talented voice cast and animation team bringing a grand, epic story to life – complete with war planning, solemn promises, and important battles. It explores themes of righteousness, destiny, and family obligations in a way that resonates with modern audiences. Each episode follows key moments from the original story, giving viewers a clear understanding of the characters, their relationships, and how their plans evolve during wartime.
‘Old Money’ (2025)
A new Turkish romantic drama begins streaming on October 10th. The story unfolds in Istanbul’s high society and centers on Nihal, whose peaceful life is turned upside down by a successful and shrewd businessman with a past. Aslı Enver, Engin Akyürek, and Serkan Altunorak star in the series.
Created by Meriç Acemi, this show combines the high-stakes world of business with the drama of wealthy families and the possibility of finding love again. It’s set in glamorous locations and explores themes of power, ambition, and reputation, all while focusing on compelling characters and unexpected plot twists related to family history and inherited fortunes.
