Here Are All the TV Shows Coming to HBO Max This Week, Including a New Crime Series

As a total cinema and TV buff, I’m really excited about what HBO Max is bringing us this week! They’ve got a great mix of stuff – from reality shows I already love to some brand new international dramas that everyone’s been talking about. It looks like we’ll see everything from intense survival competitions and glimpses into people’s everyday lives, to fascinating looks at legal cases and criminal investigations. It’s a solid boost to their February lineup, offering both easy-to-watch unscripted shows and some seriously high-quality miniseries. Keep an eye out between February 16th and 22nd for all the premieres!

‘Naked and Afraid’ (2013)

I’m so excited ‘Naked and Afraid’ is back! A new season starts on February 16th, and it’s still the show where they drop two complete strangers into the wild with absolutely nothing – no food, no water, not even clothes! It’s amazing to watch them try to survive for three weeks using just their wits and a few basic tools. It really highlights how incredibly tough and resourceful people can be when pushed to their limits, and that’s why it’s always been my favorite survival show.

‘Unexpected’ (2017)

The reality series ‘Unexpected’ returns on Tuesday, February 17th, offering a candid look at the lives of teenage parents and their families. The show examines how teen pregnancy affects multiple generations, often focusing on parents who had children young themselves. It follows the young couples as they deal with the difficulties of becoming parents – the emotional, physical, and financial struggles – and how their relationships with family and friends change over time.

‘Murder in Glitterball City’ (2026)

The new mystery series, ‘Murder in Glitterball City,’ will premiere on Thursday, February 19th. Set in a lively city, the show delves into a complicated case and the hidden secrets within a glamorous world. It’s one of the new contemporary mysteries coming to the platform in 2026, and promises to draw viewers in with its distinctive look and complex plot.

‘Portobello’ (2026)

The upcoming miniseries ‘Portobello,’ created by Marco Bellocchio, will premiere worldwide on February 20th. Based on Enzo Tortora’s 2016 book, it tells the true story of the famous TV host’s 1983 arrest and the accusations of connections to the Camorra (Italian mafia). Fabrizio Gifuni stars as Tortora, depicting his fight to clear his name after a significant legal mistake. The first two episodes were shown at the Venice International Film Festival. This drama sheds light on a crucial period in Italian media and the justice system.
