Hulu has a lot of new and popular titles this week, from intense documentaries and fun holiday shows to gripping thrillers. We’ve listed each one with its release date and a quick rundown of the plot, cast, and creators, so you can easily find something to watch without spending ages browsing.
‘Chris Hemsworth: A Road Trip to Remember’ (2025)

Premiering on Hulu November 24th, this National Geographic documentary follows Chris Hemsworth and his father, Craig, as they travel across Australia. The journey is designed to help Craig cope with an early Alzheimer’s diagnosis through reminiscence therapy, and the film also examines the science behind social connection and memory. Tom Barbor-Might directed the documentary, written by Ari Handel, and National Geographic produced and distributed it.
‘Taking the Stand’ (2022– )

A new season of this true-crime series arrives on Hulu November 25th. Unlike most true-crime shows, it focuses on the defendants themselves, letting viewers hear their direct testimony, how they were cross-examined, and ultimately, the verdicts. Hosted by legal analyst Dan Abrams, the series originally aired on A&E and features multiple cases across several episodes.
‘The Ugly Stepsister’ (2025)

A darkly comedic and gruesome take on the Cinderella story, this Norwegian film arrives on Hulu November 25th. It follows Elvira’s desperate and increasingly disturbing attempts to beat her beautiful stepsister and win the prince. Written and directed by Emilie Blichfeldt in her first feature film, it stars Lea Myren, Thea Sofie Loch Næss, and Ane Dahl Torp. The film had a limited theatrical release in the U.S. earlier this year through IFC Films.
‘Girl in the Attic’ (2025)

The new thriller, arriving on Hulu November 25th, centers around Kelsey, a young woman kidnapped and held captive in the attic of her abductor’s family home. When the man’s mother discovers the situation, the two women must work together to survive and escape. Directed by David Weaver and written by Jill Abbinanti, Tawnya Bhattacharya, and Ali Laventhol, the film stars Sophia Carriere, Keenan Tracey, and Jean Louisa Kelly.
‘Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up’ (2024– )

A new docuseries about Gypsy Rose Blanchard’s life after prison will be available on Hulu starting Tuesday, November 25th. It explores her relationships, how she deals with being in the public eye, and important moments in her life. Originally produced for Lifetime, the series includes multiple seasons and episodes, all of which are available to stream on Hulu in the U.S.
‘Bride Hard’ (2025)

I’m so excited for this new movie! It’s an action-comedy coming to Hulu on Friday, November 28th, and the premise sounds hilarious. It’s about a wedding that gets completely disrupted by mercenaries, and luckily, one of the bridesmaids is secretly a super-capable agent who has to save everyone. Simon West directed it, and Shaina Steinberg wrote the script – she actually came up with the initial story with CeCe Pleasants. It stars Rebel Wilson, and the cast also includes Anna Camp, Stephen Dorff, and Justin Hartley. I’ve been following news about this film for a while now, and it looks like it’s going to be a fun ride!
‘Holiday Baking Championship’ (2014– )

I’m so excited! The newest season of my favorite holiday baking competition is coming to Hulu on Saturday, November 29th. Each year, talented bakers compete in challenges – first a ‘Pre-Heat’ round, then the ‘Main Heat’ – for a cash prize and the ultimate bragging rights. Jesse Palmer hosts, and the judging panel includes Duff Goldman, Nancy Fuller, and Kardea Brown. It’s become a yearly tradition for me every November and December, and I love that there are so many different versions of the show now!
‘The Assistant’ (2019)

I’m really excited for this one! “The Royal Hotel,” directed by Kitty Green, is coming to Hulu on November 30th. It’s a drama that follows a young woman working as an assistant at a film company over the course of a single day, and it looks like it deals with some really tough issues – the kind of everyday mistreatment and power dynamics that often go unnoticed. Julia Garner is the lead, and the supporting cast is fantastic, with Matthew Macfadyen, Makenzie Leigh, and Kristine Froseth all involved. What’s even more impressive is that Kitty Green not only directed it, but also wrote, produced, and edited the whole thing – talk about a multi-talented filmmaker!
‘The First Omen’ (2024)

The new horror film, a prequel to ‘The Omen’, will be available on Hulu starting November 30th. It tells the story of an American trainee sent to a Roman orphanage who discovers a plot to bring about the birth of the Antichrist. Directed by Arkasha Stevenson and written with Tim Smith and Keith Thomas (based on a story by Ben Jacoby), the film stars Nell Tiger Free, Tawfeek Barhom, Sônia Braga, Ralph Ineson, and Bill Nighy. It’s a 20th Century Studios release.
