This week at the movies offers something for everyone, with new releases spanning horror, action, anime, and music. Big studio films like the newest ‘Scream’ movie and ‘The Bluff’ are hitting theaters, alongside independent films from A24 and Neon. Music lovers can enjoy concert films featuring Twenty One Pilots and Elvis, and a classic Hong Kong action movie is back in cinemas for a limited time.

‘The Bluff’ (2026)

Hitting theaters on February 25th, this exciting action-adventure takes place in the Caribbean during the 1800s. Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays a former pirate who’s forced to defend her family when secrets from her past resurface. Karl Urban stars as the determined villain threatening her peaceful island home. Directed by Frank E. Flowers, the movie blends historical storytelling with thrilling survival challenges, and also features Temuera Morrison and Ismael Cruz Cordova.

‘Twenty One Pilots: More Than We Ever Imagined’ (2026)

A new concert film featuring the band Twenty One Pilots arrives in theaters for a limited time on February 26th. It gives fans an up-close look at Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, combining the excitement of their live shows with a peek behind the curtain at how they create their music. Trafalgar Releasing is distributing the film, bringing the band’s energetic performances to the big screen. At nearly two hours long, it’s designed for dedicated fans and celebrates their music and recent tours.

‘EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert’ (2026)

Neon is releasing a new documentary that brings Elvis Presley’s concerts to life on February 27th. The film uses restored and remastered footage and audio to recreate the excitement of seeing Elvis perform live, as if you were there. Running for 90 minutes, it captures Elvis at the height of his career, showcasing his incredible voice and stage presence. It’s a great way for longtime fans to relive the magic and for new audiences to discover the King of Rock and Roll.

‘Pillion’ (2026)

I’m so excited about A24’s new film, coming out February 27th! It stars Harry Melling and Alexander Skarsgård, and it’s a really interesting story about a quiet, reserved person and a captivating biker – their connection is anything but typical. The supporting cast, including Douglas Hodge and Lesley Sharp, seems fantastic. It’s directed by Harry Lighton, and I’ve heard it’s a funny, yet deeply moving film that explores power dynamics in relationships. I especially love that the title itself, referencing the passenger seat on a motorcycle, symbolizes the main character’s personal journey – it’s a clever touch!

‘HYPNOSISMIC -Division Rap Battle- Interactive Movie’ (2026)

GKIDS is bringing the popular animated series to theaters on February 27 for a limited time. This film is special because viewers can actually join the rap battles happening on screen using a mobile app! The original voice actors, Kôhei Amasaki and Shintarô Asanuma, are back to perform, and they really capture the energy of the different musical groups. It’s a blend of classic anime and new technology, designed to be a fun, shared experience. The movie is an hour and forty minutes long and focuses on music and drama.

‘Dreams’ (2026)

I’m really excited about this new movie! It’s a drama with some romance and thriller elements, directed by Michel Franco, and it’s coming to select theaters on February 27th. Jessica Chastain and Isaac Hernández are the leads, and it sounds like their characters get caught up in a really intense, unexpected relationship. From what I’ve heard, it deals with some heavy stuff – memory, past trauma, and a love that’s probably not supposed to happen. Rupert Friend and Eduardo Gonzalez are also in it, and it seems like the movie really focuses on the characters and the tough choices they have to make. I’ve seen some of Franco’s other work, and he’s great at showing flawed people in difficult situations, so I have high hopes for this one!

‘Matter of Time’ (2026)

ArtAffects Entertainment will release a new sci-fi film on February 27th. Starring Sean Astin and Jamie Alexander, the movie tells the story of characters grappling with the risks of time travel and its impact on their lives. Myles Erlick and Ali Astin also appear in this 104-minute film, which combines a family story with classic science fiction themes. It centers around the challenges of changing the past to protect the future.

‘The Napa Boys’ (2026)

Magnolia Pictures’ new comedy, arriving in theaters on February 27th, follows a group of friends – Armen Weitzman, Nick Corirossi, and Mike Mitchell – on a hilariously chaotic wine country road trip. Sarah Ramos joins them in this funny and heartwarming story about friendship and growing up. The movie runs for 92 minutes and really showcases the great comedic timing between the main actors.

‘Umamusume: Pretty Derby – Beginning of a New Era’ (2025)

Originally released in Japan in 2024, this animated sports drama is coming to US theaters on February 27th, courtesy of Gaga. The film centers on Jungle Pocket, a determined young racer striving to become the best in her class. She’ll face tough competition from rivals like Agnes Tachyon and Manhattan Cafe as she battles for victory in the prestigious Classic Triple Crown races. Building on the established world of the franchise, the movie delivers thrilling race scenes and heartfelt stories. The voice cast is led by Yuri Fujimoto and Sumire Uesaka.

‘K-Pops!’ (2026)

Anderson .Paak steps behind the camera for the first time with this funny and touching film, which premiered at festivals earlier this year and hits theaters on February 27th. He also stars as a former drummer trying to revive his career by joining his son’s K-pop group. Soul Rasheed plays the son, and their on-screen relationship feels authentic. The movie playfully pokes fun at the music business while telling a sincere story about fathers and sons, and finding a second chance. Jonnie Park and Jee Young Han also appear in the film.

‘Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle – Rule the Stage -Battle of Pride 2023-‘ (2024)

GKIDS will be showing a special limited release of the “Battle of Pride 2023” stage performance in cinemas on February 27th. This isn’t the animated movie; it’s a recording of the live stage show featuring the actors from the ‘Hypnosismic’ series. It’s a full presentation of the musical numbers and dancing from the live rap battles, giving fans a chance to see the 2023 event as if they were there.

‘Bring the Law’ (2026)

On February 27th, Level 33 Entertainment will release a new action-crime thriller in select cinemas. Starring Mickey Rourke and Brendan Fehr, the film tells a raw story of people taking the law into their own hands after being let down by the system. Danielle Harris and Nicky Whelan also feature in this intense, one hour and thirty-five minute movie, which is filled with action and has a dark, suspenseful feel.

‘Scream 7’ (2026)

Okay, so I’m super excited because the new Scream movie is hitting theaters wide on February 27th! Neve Campbell is back as Sidney Prescott, and honestly, seeing her face off against Ghostface again is everything. Courteney Cox is also returning as Gale Weathers, which is awesome, and they’ve added some new faces like Isabel May and Jasmin Savoy Brown. The director, Kevin Williamson, is promising a return to what made the original Scream so great, but with a fresh mystery to solve. It sounds like they’re really digging into how the past events have affected the survivors, while also introducing a brand new killer. I can’t wait!

‘A Better Tomorrow’ (1986)

I’m so excited! John Woo’s classic action movie is coming back to theaters on March 1st! It stars Chow Yun-Fat, Ti Lung, and Leslie Cheung, and it’s a really amazing story about loyalty, being betrayed, and finding a way to make things right, all set in the Hong Kong crime world. It basically created the style of action movies with over-the-top gunfights but also a lot of heart. And now we get to see it looking its best on the big screen – it’s a little over an hour and thirty-five minutes long, which is perfect. I can’t wait!
