The dates listed are when each show or movie will be available this week.
Whether you enjoy epic biopics like Werner Herzog’s latest film, gripping documentaries about music legends such as Ozzy Osbourne, or upcoming movies slated for 2025, there’s something for everyone. This collection includes historical adventures, thrilling crime stories, and truly scary horror films. Here’s a guide to each project—including the creators, cast, and plot—to help you decide what to watch.
‘Queen of the Desert’ (2015)
Werner Herzog’s film tells the story of Gertrude Bell, a British writer and explorer who played a key role in shaping the Middle East in the early 1900s through her travels and political work. Nicole Kidman stars as Bell throughout the film, with James Franco, Damian Lewis, and Robert Pattinson in supporting roles. Herzog also wrote the script, and the film features cinematography by Peter Zeitlinger and a score by Klaus Badelt and Mark Yaeger. Produced by Benaroya Pictures, the 128-minute movie debuted at the Berlin International Film Festival and will be released on October 7th.
I’m really excited about this new film! It tells the incredible story of Gertrude Bell, starting with a pivotal time in her life in Tehran and following her adventures through the desert and her work as a diplomat after World War I. She became a vital link between the British government and Arab leaders, which is just fascinating. What’s cool is they actually filmed on location in Morocco, Jordan, and England. Apparently, it was a long process getting the cast right – they spent years searching! It’s Werner Herzog’s first fully narrative film since 2009, and it drops on October 7th – I’ve already marked my calendar!
‘Ozzy: No Escape from Now’ (2025)
Coming to screens on Tuesday, October 7th, this documentary offers a personal look at Ozzy Osbourne over the last six years of his life. It shows his struggles with health issues, his return to making music, and precious moments with his family. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Tania Nash and made with the Osbourne family’s support, the film features interviews with Sharon, Kelly, Jack, and even his daughter Aimee, who rarely speaks publicly, as well as friends and fellow musicians. The documentary focuses on Ozzy’s journey after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and his work on new music, providing an intimate look at the legendary rocker.
This documentary explores the aftermath of Ozzy Osbourne’s serious fall in 2018 – a health scare that was initially handled poorly and eventually required major surgery. It shows how the incident changed his life and career, alongside his farewell performances and the Osbourne family’s thoughts on fame and family life. Through interviews and past footage, the film follows his journey from crisis to recovery, ultimately offering a frank look at who he is, facing his own mortality, and the lasting impact of music. It will be available to stream starting Tuesday, October 7th.
‘Roofman’ (2025)
Derek Cianfrance’s new movie, a funny and true crime story, opens on Friday, October 10th. Channing Tatum stars as Jeffrey “Roofman” Manchester, a former Army reservist who became famous for robbing restaurants by climbing through their roofs and for a bold escape from prison. Cianfrance co-wrote the screenplay with Kirt Gunn and worked again with producers Jamie Patricof and Lynette Howell Taylor. The film also features a strong supporting cast including Kirsten Dunst, Ben Mendelsohn, LaKeith Stanfield, Juno Temple, Melonie Diaz, Uzo Aduba, Lily Collias, Jimmy O. Yang, and Peter Dinklage. It first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2025.
The film tells the story of a daring thief in Manchester who pulls off rooftop burglaries and cleverly hides – at one point, living *inside the wall* of an abandoned Circuit City next to a busy Toys “R” Us. As the police get closer, he’s forced to create new identities and navigate complicated relationships. Featuring a score by Christopher Bear and cinematography by Andrij Parekh, the 126-minute movie combines the excitement of a heist film with an in-depth look at the life of this remarkably resourceful criminal. It will be released on Friday, October 10th.
‘Vicious’ (2025)
Dakota Fanning stars in the new horror film from writer and director Bryan Bertino, debuting this Friday, October 10th. The movie, produced by Richard Suckle and supported by Atlas Independent, also features Kathryn Hunter, Mary McCormack, Rachel Blanchard, and Devyn Nekoda. After premiering at Fantastic Fest on September 19, 2025, the 98-minute thriller will be released in early October, with a score composed by Tom Schraeder.
This chilling story follows a woman who believes a sinister force has invaded her home and is messing with her mind. She’s forced to confront a terrifying reality where she can’t trust anything she sees or hears. Director Bertino, known for creating intense suspense, expertly uses isolation and a distorted sense of reality to build tension. As the story unfolds, the connections between the characters and the secrets of the woman’s past are slowly revealed. The film will be released on Friday, October 10th.
I’m so excited to start watching! I’m trying to decide between a gripping historical drama, a thrilling heist movie, or something truly scary. What are you planning to watch first, and what do you think of these options? I’d love to hear your recommendations!
