As a movie critic, I’m checking out what’s new on Hulu this week, and it’s a bit of a mixed bag. They’re adding some big, crowd-pleasing blockbusters and a few fresh comedies, which is great. But, sadly, some of my favorite suspenseful flicks are leaving the platform. This week, starting February 2nd and running through the 8th, we’re getting a brand new original film about relationships, plus a recent summer hit making its streaming debut. However, if you’re in the mood for a scare, you’ll want to watch those horror and thriller titles quickly before they disappear. Here’s the rundown of everything coming and going this week.
‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ (2024)

The newest film in the popular science fiction series takes place many years after Caesar’s time. It follows Noa, a young chimpanzee, on a dangerous adventure where he begins to wonder about the true story of apes and humans. The movie centers around the rise of a cruel leader who wants to control other groups by using old human inventions. You can start watching it on the streaming service this Monday, February 2nd, if you have a subscription.
‘Splitsville’ (2025)

This funny movie centers around a couple going through a separation who decide to continue living together. They try to appear normal to their friends and family, but face plenty of awkward and complicated situations along the way. It’s a look at how people are redefining relationships and handling divorce in modern times. You can start watching it on Friday, February 6th.
‘Project Legion’ (2022)

In this action-horror movie, Donald Cerrone plays a man stuck in his apartment as demons invade the city. He has to find a way out and battle the supernatural creatures right outside his door to survive. The film explores how someone deals with being completely alone during a sudden, catastrophic event. It will be removed from the platform on Tuesday, February 3rd.
‘Piggy’ (2022)

‘Piggy,’ a Spanish horror-thriller, follows a teenage girl who is constantly bullied. When she sees a stranger kidnap her bullies, she’s faced with a difficult choice: stay quiet or seek justice. The movie explores tough topics like dealing with trauma, feeling like an outsider, and what happens when someone seeks revenge. It’s available to stream until February 8th.
