Henry Golding returned to the set of “Another Simple Favor” as a man transformed by new experiences and wisdom, he shared in a recent interview. This time around, working alongside seasoned actors like Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively felt less intimidating because he was able to offer more insights on set and contribute ideas to the script.
In an interview on Today, the actor shared that he wasn’t nervous about working with fresh faces or joining a new project for the sequel to 2018’s A Simple Favor. He likened rejoining his co-stars Lively and Kendrick to slipping into comfortable shoes and taking an easy stroll.
After Crazy Rich Asians, A Simple Favor was my second movie, so I felt like a newcomer on set. I was always eager to assist, saying things like ‘Yes ma’am, yes sir,’ and following instructions. But after gaining more experience and finding my footing as an actor, I had the opportunity to offer more ideas and input,” he explained.
“So a lot of the lines that Paul (Feig, director) kept in there were sort of what I came up with.”
In the same engaging conversation, I couldn’t help but share some thrilling updates regarding “Crazy Rich Asians”. It seems this beloved film is set to evolve into an enticing series! The cast is absolutely ecstatic about joining the journey and can’t wait to immerse themselves even deeper in this captivating world. I’m excited to announce that we have a more expansive, ongoing format, much like a series, which gives us ample opportunity to delve further into the rich tapestry of this universe that viewers got a taste of.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but gush over the masterful work of Paul Feig in directing Another Simple Favor. The script for this captivating tale is brilliantly penned by Jessica Sharzer and Laeta Kalogridis. The talented ensemble cast includes Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho, Michele Morrone, Elena Sofia Ricci, Elizabeth Perkins, Alex Newell, and the legendary Allison Janney. I simply can’t wait to see this cinematic gem unfold on the big screen!
The movie had its debut a month ago at the South by Southwest Festival, and it’s scheduled for release on Amazon Prime Video on May 1st.
