We’re finally getting an update on the Henry Cavill Voltron movie, which was previously reported to be released directly on streaming instead of in theaters.
Okay, as a lifelong fan of Voltron, this is huge news! Finally, it looks like we’re getting a full line of toys based on the live-action movie! Hasbro and Amazon MGM Studios have teamed up to make it happen, which is awesome. I’ve been waiting for this for ages!
That could actually suggest the film will now get a theatrical release.

Hasbro Teams With Amazon MGM Studios
Hasbro will be making a variety of toys and collectibles based on the new movie, including action figures, role-playing items, and other collectibles, all inspired by the classic 1980s anime series.
Hasbro says this partnership helps them introduce their beloved, classic brands to a new generation of fans.
Hasbro’s Tim Kilpin explained that Voltron’s established history fits well with their other popular brands from the 80s. He added that working with Amazon MGM Studios will help keep the franchise going strong and attract both existing fans and a new generation of viewers.

Voltron Movie Cast and Creators
Rawson Marshall Thurber, the director of Red Notice, is helming the live-action Voltron movie. He also collaborated with Ellen Shanman to write the story and script.
The show boasts a star-studded cast, with Henry Cavill leading alongside Sterling K. Brown, Alba Baptista, Rita Ora, and others.
Todd Lieberman from Hidden Pictures, Bob Koplar, Rawson Marshall Thurber, and David Hoberman from Hobie Films are the producers behind the project.
Release info
There’s still no confirmed release date for the Voltron movie. It’s currently unknown whether it will be released in theaters or stream directly on Prime Video.
So far, there haven’t been any official previews of the new Voltron, like posters, pictures, or a trailer. The first details we’ve seen have come from unofficial leaks.
