Henry Cavill to Headline Amazon MGM’s ‘Voltron

As a seasoned gamer and long-time admirer of Henry Cavill’s impressive portfolio, this news about his starring role in the upcoming ‘Voltron’ movie has sent my heart racing like the engines of the mighty robot itself! Growing up with the original series, I can’t help but feel a wave of nostalgia wash over me.

It seems that Henry Cavill is attracted towards passionate roles, since it was just reported that he’ll act in the forthcoming ‘Voltron’ film according to Variety.

Voltron is a cherished media brand centered around a massive robot constructed from combining five mechanical lions. It all started with the ‘Voltron: Guardian of the Galaxy’ animated show, airing for the first time in 1984.

The movie adaptation of ‘Voltron’ will be directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, who collaborated with Ellen Shanman on the script. Notably, Thurber is recognized for his contributions to Netflix’s 2021 action film ‘Red Notice’ and the 2018 film ‘Skyscraper,’ both of which featured Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as the lead actor.

Despite the storyline being kept confidential for now, the production crew consists of Todd Lieberman from Hidden Pictures, Bob Koplar, Thurber, and David Hoberman from Hobie Films.

In the upcoming project, Henry Cavill will share the screen with Daniel Quinn-Toye, an up-and-coming actor who has previously made appearances on ‘Badults.’

This announcement signifies a promising new chapter for Cavill’s acting career, particularly as he navigates the changes following his departure from the Superman role when James Gunn rebranded the DC universe as the “DCU.

As a devoted admirer, I must say that just like how Geralt left an enchanting world behind in ‘The Witcher’ on Netflix, Henry Cavill too has moved away from his role. Regrettably, some of his recent ventures didn’t live up to the studio’s anticipations. Yet, there are still captivating prospects awaiting him in the near future.

As a gamer speaking directly, I’ve just had an amazing moment playing Wolverine in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ and there’s buzz among fans that I might have a locked-in role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I’m also pumped about the new ‘Highlander’ reboot and the forthcoming ‘Warhammer 40K’ project, but if we don’t finalize a deal by year-end, the ‘Warhammer’ might experience some delays.

Regardless, it appears that Cavill is focusing on projects that align with his geeky passions, which contributes greatly to his dedicated following.
