Henry Cavill Confirms Injury, Reveals First Look at Highlander Hair

Henry Cavill injured his ankle while preparing for his role in the upcoming *Highlander* movie. He shared photos on social media of his cast-covered ankle and also revealed his new haircut for the film.

The actor is recovering and shared photos of his injured ankle and foot propped up on a pillow, as well as a picture with his dog.

Henry Cavill shared the complete text of William Ernest Henley’s poem, *Invictus*, which suggests he identifies with its themes of strength and perseverance. Photos also show Warhammer books, confirming his well-known passion for the franchise and his work developing a live-action Warhammer series for Amazon.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,

I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

First Look at MacLeod

In addition to showing his injury, the photos offer the first look at Henry Cavill’s hairstyle for the upcoming *Highlander* film. He’s sporting a longer cut, similar to the one worn by Christopher Lambert in the original 1986 movie.

Henry Cavill recently shared with The Hollywood Reporter that he’s prioritizing Highlander this year, describing it as a project he’s very enthusiastic about.

The new film, directed by Chad Stahelski – known for his work on *John Wick* – has assembled a cast including Russell Crowe as Ramirez, Dave Bautista as Kurgan, Marisa Abela in a key new role, and Karen Gillan as Heather, who is married to the main character, MacLeod.

Filming Delayed

According to Deadline, production will likely be put on hold until early 2026 because of an injury to Henry Cavill. Details about the injury haven’t been released, but Cavill previously injured his hamstring in 2021 while filming Season 2 of The Witcher.

I’m so excited to hear that Amazon MGM Studios, through United Artists, is now in charge of this incredible franchise! It sounds like they’re not only planning a new movie, but are also considering a spin-off series – I really hope both happen!

Currently, it seems Henry Cavill is handling the news well, implying he still hopes to return to his role as the Highlander in the future.
