Henry Cavill (42) Channels Raw Warrior Energy with Gritty, Sweat-Soaked Swagger in ‘Highlander’ London Set Photos

Fans are getting their first glimpse of Henry Cavill as Connor MacLeod in the new Highlander movie! Set photos from filming in London, shared by @UnBoxPHD, show the actor dressed and acting the part.

Now that Henry Cavill has finished playing Superman and Geralt of Rivia, he’s taking on a new, highly anticipated role, and fans are eager to see his take on the character.

This story centers on a warrior who has lived for centuries and constantly fights other immortal beings. It’s built around the same premise as the original movie – there can be only one survivor.

I’ve been checking out the new photos, and the first thing you notice is Henry Cavill’s coat – it’s a really striking, long, dark trench coat. It looks substantial, with lots of detail like straps and different layers that give it a kind of rugged, lived-in feel. He’s keeping the rest of his outfit pretty understated with a dark shirt and hoodie underneath. And there’s a noticeable scar on his face, which makes me think he’s been in a pretty intense fight recently – definitely adds to the mystery!

His clothes include close-fitting cargo pants and sturdy combat boots, creating a look that’s both practical and suggests he’s prepared for a fight. The style implies he’s constantly moving and ready for anything, yet still aims to fit into a contemporary urban environment.

Those familiar with the 1986 movie might spot a nod to Christopher Lambert, who originally played the character. Like Cavill, Lambert’s version also relied on a long coat for stealth, but Henry Cavill’s portrayal has a grittier, more powerful feel.

Chad Stahelski, the director behind the John Wick movies, is helming the new film. The cast features Dave Bautista, previously spotted playing the antagonist, alongside Russell Crowe, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Marisa Abela, Max Zhang, and Drew McIntyre.

Filming has been happening for several months, continuing even after a pause due to an injury to Henry Cavill. Initial reviews of the script by Michael Finch suggest the movie will closely follow the plot of the original story.

The movie is expected to come out in 2027, and we’ll probably get more sneak peeks and clips as they keep filming.
