Hello Kitty Island Adventure Hits Switch and PC This Month

On the 30th of January, 2025, Hello Kitty Island Adventure – a game developed by Sunblink and previously available on Apple Arcade since July 2023 – will be launching for both Nintendo Switch and PC through Steam. Since its initial release, this open-world adventure game has garnered considerable interest.

In this game, we embark on a journey alongside Hello Kitty and her companions to a tranquil tropical paradise. However, things don’t go as planned upon our arrival, as the vibrant Big Adventures Park is deserted instead of bustling with activity. Our task now becomes discovering the island, reconnecting with friends scattered around, and bringing the park back to its original splendor.

This island encompasses diverse ecosystems, such as Kuromi’s spooky manor nestled within the haunting Swamp of Shadows, the volcanic Mount Hothead ablaze with fire, the shimmering caves of Mountain Jewels, and the vibrant underwater landscapes of Rainbow Oasis. With more than 100 hours of gameplay, there’s a wealth of secrets waiting to be uncovered.

In this platform, you have the freedom to design Sanrio-like avatars by selecting from various facial expressions, physical attributes, and body silhouettes. You can amass numerous articles of clothing as well. Moreover, customizing your personal spaces is a significant aspect, enabling you to arrange your ideal rooms and even establish Friendship Cabins for shared multiplayer experiences.

Significantly, this game steers clear of microtransactions. Instead, everything is accessible through gameplay itself, maintaining a smooth and enjoyable journey for players. Interactive activities like baking with Hello Kitty, potion-brewing with Kuromi, fishing with Badtz-maru, and critter-collecting with Keroppi strengthen our connections with cherished characters. Furthermore, hidden Gudetama collectibles and challenges enrich the overall experience.

The multiplayer mode improves our experience by enabling us to extend invitations to our friends, turning our island into a shared space for collaborative exploration and restoration projects.

Julian Farrior, CEO at Sunblink, showed enthusiasm for introducing the game on various new systems, particularly focusing on its themes that promote friendship and kindness. On the other hand, Craig Takiguchi, COO of Sanrio, underscored this expansion as a means to reach out to more enthusiasts and spread Hello Kitty’s message of happiness and togetherness.

The game has been widely praised, earning the title of Apple Arcade Game of the Year and receiving a nomination for Best Mobile Game at The Game Awards 2023.

Looking forward to diving into the delightful universe of Hello Kitty Island Adventure, set to launch on January 30 for Switch and PC, with a subsequent release planned for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in 2025, we’re getting ever closer!
