Heidi Klum Claps Back At Critics Questioning Her Dressing Sense: ‘I’m Not Shy About My Femininity’

As an ardent admirer of Heidi Klum, I find myself consistently inspired by her unapologetic and empowering approach to fashion and self-expression. Her ability to embody femininity without it being misconstrued as an invitation is nothing short of commendable.

Heidi Klum is self-assured about her fashion decisions and firmly believes that women’s attire does not, in any way, serve as an invitation to members of the opposite sex.

52-year-old German supermodel, Heidi Klum, had no qualms expressing her thoughts about fashion criticism. She stated boldly, “I’m not ashamed of my femininity. I enjoy donning elegant dresses, displaying my neckline, wearing mini skirts, high heels, and stylish stockings – but that doesn’t imply I’m interested in going out with you,” Klum told The Times during an interview published on November 1.

For her, style is simply an extension of her personality. “I want to have fun and show my body, but I have boundaries, as do all women,” she continued.

In the same interview, the ex-Victoria’s Secret Angel recounted how her childhood shaped her sense of style. Klum revealed that annually, as a young girl, she visited a carnival with her grandmother, a seamstress, who would tailor her outfits. Her mother also crafted matching ensembles for her and her Barbie doll. Klum explained that this resulted in Mattel reaching out to her, as they were introducing a Barbie doll modeled after her.

2009 marked a special occasion when a judge on America’s Got Talent received her very own Barbie doll. This was unveiled during Barbie’s 50th anniversary spectacle at Fashion Week, which took place as part of the Blonde Ambition Collection, showcasing popular blondes in the entertainment industry.

In an interview with The Times, Klum highlighted a detail that was often overlooked in the classic dolls – they were always bare. Being uncomfortable with the fact that the dolls didn’t have undergarments, she made sure to include them when designing her own version of the doll. “I take great pride in that decision,” said Klum.

Noted for her more daring appearance, the former Sports Illustrated cover model recently caused a stir at a Halloween event in New York when she and her husband Tom Kaulitz appeared dressed as feminine and masculine variations of the character E.T., from the 1982 film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial by Steven Spielberg.

At the red carpet event, Klum expressed her great admiration for both the creatures featured in the film and the overall production of it.
