‘He Was Really Cute’: Heather Locklear Reveals She Saw Tom Cruise’s Risky Business Dance Move Before It Went Viral After Movie

As a devoted fan of Hollywood history, I found Heather Locklear‘s recent reminiscences about her date with Tom Cruise truly captivating. Her vivid descriptions of their first meeting and subsequent encounter at Club Lingerie paint a fascinating picture of an era gone by. It was intriguing to learn about the early signs of the charisma that would later become synonymous with Cruise, as evidenced by his infamous knee slide dance.

More recently, Heather Locklear shared a story about her one and only date with Tom Cruise. During the 90s Con Florida event on September 14th, Lockear disclosed that they had an audition for a movie where they first met the 62-year-old actor. Poking fun at their performances, which she admits didn’t live up to her expectations, she joked, “I was terrible, he was even worse!

Currently, Cruise was quite reserved, and responded to her with a “yes ma’am,” which Locklear, who had a rebellious rock and roll spirit within, found somewhat traditional in their exchange. Locklear explained, “At that point, he seemed more like a young boy to me, and I felt older. He later visited my house with Sean Penn. They were pleasant, but Cruise was excessively respectful towards me, to which I responded ‘yes, sir.’

Locklear mentioned that the two eventually went dancing together at Club Lingerie, a place where Cruise showcased dance moves that would later be iconic for him. She stated, “At that point in time, we danced at Club Lingerie, and I must say, he was quite adorable.

She recalled that people were being captured by him rather early in the evening, during an event where he introduced what would later be famously known as the Cruise’s integral knee slide dance. This maneuver eventually gained eternal fame when it was showcased in the film Risky Business, a routine that Tom Cruise, the Mission Impossible star, had performed at one time.

Laughing off, Locklear also recalled the moment when she thought of following Cruise’s steps who was gliding along the floor. She was struck by the gentleness and politeness of Cruise although they only went about as colleagues and nothing more.

1992 marked a significant milestone for Locklear as she starred in the hit TV series ‘Melrose Place’, a renowned show that turned out to be a major career boost for her. The series, which spanned over seven seasons, became one of the defining moments in her acting journey.

During the director’s meeting, Locklear spoke about the recently announced revival of Melrose Place, which is due to start filming soon. Just like the original, but many years later, the series will be brought back to life, as was confirmed at the 90s Convention.
